So some of us players of Minecraft might have noticed the problems going on.
These are coming from the servers getting hammered by a distributed denial of service, or DDOS, attack.
I've been following him on twitter and hearing things there.
A group of self-identifying disenfranchised Minecraft players demanding more updates from the game's creator have claimed responsibility saying.

the DDOS'ers said:
Minecraft is currently experiencing a stimulation provided by us.

It's purpose is to send Notch a clear message of how the future of minecraft will turn out unless he gets to work, namely by influencing the amount of sales taking place, due to the attacks.

Start providing your customers with the updates that you promise them.

We have roughly 83,000 bots available, and preserved for this seizure, we could if we wanted to keep this going for weeks, however we have decided to give it a week, and see whether or not your attitude, and commitment will change, we believe it will when money stops rolling in for the time being...

anyhow, no we're not from roblox, or any other minecraft clone, not to mention none of us have been around 4chan for years, and nor has any real 4channers for that matter, its all newfags now, and has been for quite a few years.
More is said on the ]is[/i] working on it as best he can, among trying to get started with an actual company, offices for said company.

"Ohey gaiz let's distract Notch by making him worry about an attack on the server. Maybe he'll be more productive."

Idiots. And it's shortly after he announces a gigantic Halloween update as well.

1.) halloween update promises a literal *censored.3.0*ton of minecraft goodies
2.) *****es gonna *censored.4.0*
3.) script kiddies are thrown into the mix
4.) ???
5.) LOL WE TROLL U

am i missing anything?

except of course that these retards think that creating more problems for a dev to fix is going to give him more time to update the game.

the game is alpha, not even beta, right? it isn't finished. were updates promised when they purchased it?

inb4 "lolsuckonnotchescocksomemore"

i don't own the game, but that sounds like all that any argument can be summarized as. those who bought the game and *censored.4.0*, those who bought the game and don't *censored.4.0* (who are probably playing right now, instead of caring about this), those who bought the game and defend notch, those who bought or didn't buy the game and are name-calling those who are *censored.4.1*, those who are defending notch, and those who don't *censored.4.0* as well, most likely.

where these DDoS *censored.7.61* come in, no one knows.

my guess: they're all roughly 13 years old and minecraft is their life.
one or two might be 14. it could happen.

Haters gonna hate,
*****ers gonna *censored.4.0*
3 year olds gonna be 3.

This is the most counter productive, half assed scheme ever thought of. "Hmm, he's busy, and can't produce updates. Therefore, we'll screw with the servers, cause technical problems, and force him to address those. This will obviously result in more time for him to make updates!"

Please try to contribute something, don't just up your post count....

sometimes a one word phrase or face is appropriate but in this context it really isn't.

Also... Isn't this like terrorism? When has that ever ended well?
The internet's rules are kinda loose. So, unless they are doing this to a government institution or threatening violence, I don't believe it is. Still a rooster thing to do though

It still is, may be not killing people, but taking something ransom.

They are trying to use fear of something bad happening to force someone to do something... What is really stupid about this is that he has been working on it... there is a huge update dated. I mean seriously wait a couple weeks.

The game is really already good enough to be a full game, they should be happy he is adding more no matter how long it takes.

Yeah I follow him on twitter as well and have been following this nonsense. Notch has already fixed the problem and put up a firewall of some sort to block these DDOSers...

I love how the n00bs expected him to work like a 100+ games development company to get updates out. How ridiculous.

^^ *censored.1.2* that can't identify trolls for *censored.2.0*, or just a troll.
