Might take a break from New Leaf?

So, I've been playing New Leaf since Christmas now, but lately I've been getting back into my Pokemon games. I still really love Animal Crossing, but I feel like I'm kind of "fading away" from wanting to play it.

I remember seeing a guide on making sure villagers don't move out when being gone for a long time, so I might use that.

Do you think it would be a good idea to just take a break from New Leaf for a week or two? Like, a hiatus for Animal Crossing and TBT? I'll probably get back into it in a little while. I just wanted to ask the forums for other opinions.

If that is what you think is best then you should! You don't want to force yourself to keep playing when you want to take a break because it might end up feeling like a chore and you don't want that! c=

Huh, I don't plan on taking a break anytime soon, but would you mind linking the guide if this ever becomes the case? Also, I took a two month hiatus right around Christmas, and it was refreshing! I started to feel burnt out to and because I was "lucky" none of my villagers movee and I was able to pick up exactly where I left off. Now I play everyday and I haven't felt my interest dwindling at all :)

I don't remember where I found the guide, but it was something like making note of the last time you played, changing the 3ds clock to that date before loading ACNL again, and TT'ing 1-2 days forward at a time and talking to all your villagers. If I find it I'll link it

Games are suppose to relax you. It's a good chance to socialize, entertain yourself and enjoy the fun of playing. If you'd get more enjoyment from another game then that's what you should do. I've seen people literally sigh over RPG games because... OMG it's raid night and I really wanted to go out and - see that movie, have a drink with friends, read that book - but I have to level. People work hard enough at school or at work. Like Micecupcakes said - if it starts feeling like a chore then the fun's gone. Besides coming back after a break from a game is like visiting an old friend.

If you can bring yourself to wait until someone asks you to move and you stop them, no one else will move in the meantime. If you don't want to wait, just mark the last date you played and when you play again, go in as a new character to make sure no one is gone. If they are, go back to your last date played and stop them and you should be okay. Be sure they ping you if you do that, though, because someone recently did this and didn't actually stop the person and lost them.

The only consequence of not playing would be villagers moving out, but since you got that sorted, go ahead and take a break.
I got bored of it after 3 months of playing it (got the game last year, August) so I only went on each day to check up if anyone was leaving and so.

Just stop someone from leaving and you can abandon your game as long as you want without worrying another villager move out =x tried it myself and works perfectly! Just remember to save after you stop them and you re good to leave~

Set your town to the Beautiful Ordinance just in case you don't have to TT back to the old date. That way if you're able to continue at the new date, you won't have to weed or pay Leif to.

Yeah, don't worry about it. If your feelings are fading away, it's good to take a break. I took a break for about 3 months but now I'm back and I love it as much as I did as I first played it. Don't forget to set your town ordinance though and good luck not having any of your villagers move out while you are away. I hope everything goes well and I hope you find your way back here/Animal Crossing. Take care! :lemon:

Taking a break can be good sometimes! When Pokemon Y came out I pretty much focused all my attention on that and didn't play ACNL for months! When I started playing again I loved it even more, and had a lot of fun playing it because I hadn't in a while! The only you would worry about is weeds, and villagers! Just set your ordinance to Beautiful (if you haven't already) and talk to them to make sure they don't leave! Or you could always stop playing let's say tomorrow April 7th, then not play for a couple weeks and when you go to play New Leaf just set your 3ds systems calendar back to the day after you stopped playing or a couple days after that, like April 8th or 9th! And you can TT a couple days til' you get to the date your actually on IRL!

One question about this. Can you load up that same day again before taking your break? Or do you have to tell them not to move then shut it off and toss the cartridge across the room and never look at it until you're ready again?

I know this works but I'm so goddamn paranoid it's really wearing me down haha sobs into haNDS
life was simpler when I had one copy

Oh, also, OP, I spend 50% of my time on TBT and 1% of my time playing AC. The rest is spent sleeping or eating. So yeah. It's totally fine to take a break. Especially if you get as worn out as I did. I'm just oddly masochistic and like being on TBT a lot, yet don't play.
