I fail to see what any of this has to do with Bill Gates. He stepped down from Microsoft, and he really has nothing to do with the conditions of Xbox live. That's all on the moderation crew for the platform.

The only reason the failure rates are so high on xboxes is because they were being built with price in mind for a powerful system. Keep in mind when the PS3 came out they were highly priced and came down since, but Xbox started fairly low to get those extra sales, that means that some equipment and design aspects had to be modified to save money. Engineering was not the best either, and I have a feeling the Xbox was a rush job to be released in time for christmas that year. THAT is why there are so many issues.
