I and someone else are also getting an error so I doubt it is coincidental

The Wii and DS has legit reasons why they were cut.

Well then why doesn't your DS have wifi? Is the wifi switch on your DS off?

I go to the settings in the 3DS options. I select my wifi. The test went perfectly. 5 seconds and it told me that my wifi was working. I go to the internet browser. I went to google, then typed in "ACNL". Internet worked fine. I go to Friends List.... doesn't work.

The error states, "Unable to connect to the server. Please try again later."

Hmm that's weird. Try restarting your system and then trying again.

I just tried it twice. This is weird because this is the first time I've EVER had this problem.. Sure, in the past (not anymore), I had problems connecting to almost everybody's town, but this is different... I cant even get to the friend's list.

What error number are you getting? I heard that the servers are down for maintenance but mines working fine. :/

Just refresh your yor wifi connection and try to enter again and again that worked for me
