I saw somewhere that they can be bought from the ABD for 3k bells each. However, I don't see this option. Anyone can shed some light on this?

I thought it was traded in for 3k bells each at the machine in front of your town hall

I thought the same thing, but they can only be SOLD for 3,000 bells. You can't exchange to get more coupons.

At your post office ABD, you can trade MEOW coupons for 3,000 bells but there is no option to trade your bells for coupons. You can only get coupons through doing initiatives or scanning in an amiibo with Wisp as far as I know.

All you can do is sell them for 3,000 bells each which isn't much different than lighting them on fire.
