Thank you

Should be locked in a cage far away where nobody can hear you screa-

'Spose we should help them, but that's a great option, I didn't expect that at all.

i think people who want help/dont know help is an option should have it suggested and have help seeking it out, but i hate the stigma of telling anyone with the slightest issue to "get help." its really obnoxious, honestly, and hearing the same thing over and over sucks. for some people the standard "Help" just doesnt work and theyd rather just be left to their own devices and handle it on their own, and people shouldnt get mad or persistent at them because of that. if other people arent in danger because of it, and they dont want to get "Help" then leave them alone. i also dont like grouping the mentally ill away like its a small little group over away in the corner, chances are some of you are mentally ill and dont even know it, just arent hindered enough by it to look into it. tho honestly in general i dont like talking about the topic that much, but i figured id give my two cents

Thanks for sharing your opinion! I agree, I think people should be educated where and how they can get help. Because I know not everyone knows.
I know in the past few years stigma has decreased a little and theres been a lot of people that have come out about mental health which has helped a lot of other people come out too. I think that has helped with some people feeling alone and the 'odd one out' since there wasnt much talk about it. Since I know I felt the same a few years ago.

I also dont like the ignorance or arrogance from some people about the topic and i think alot of that has something to do with not understanding it properly. My family are very ignorant to my depression (i shall not go into it as its long and this is no personal site) and when they 'think' im going in to a depressive phase (really im studying hard for an exam and avoiding my dramatic family) they leave me to it and just throw it out there like its nothing like 'Oh i just thought you were going into one of those phases again' and its just like 'oh really? well thanks for trying to get me out of it if I was!' <---- that kind of ignorance annoys the hell out of me. Ive had things like 'just go to the doctor' 'just get over it' 'JUST BE HAPPY'

Thats only because I have helped a friend who has gone through depression and I would help anyone else who was going through with it and not leave them to it

Maybe its just me? lol

I chose 'I don't really understand mental illness' because even though I have struggled with my own mental illness and my parents' for many years I still don't understand what is going on in my own brain. I just try to cope. I don't think the stigma surrounding it is right, we should be more open. But when those with mental illness are constantly made to feel like mental illness isn't really an illness then it's kind of difficult. It's like.. we don't chose to feel this way or act these ways, but we do, and I as a person don't understand it - like I don't even understand me but I am trying to.
