Welcome to Fireleaf, my New Leaf town! This is a comprehensive record of all major events that have happened here. I hope you enjoy reading it. This map is not completely up to date, so I plan on updating it as soon as possible.

00067.jpg

I decided that instead of posting in the Official Screenshot Thread, to instead make my own thread devoted purely to my town. The reasoning behind this is that I want to provide a good record of my experiences in this town, and I don't want them to get buried in the official thread. I would also rather not clutter up Blog Tree with hundreds of posts, so I think this is the best solution here.

Anyway, here is my first post from the other thread. Unfortunately the pictures do not seem to show automatically but you can still click their links.

Welcome to Fireleaf, my second New Leaf town! I plan on documenting many of my experiences here, so I hope you enjoy them.

As I exit the Train Station and am greeted by the welcoming party, I am pleased to see that I have never had any of these villagers in my towns before. They are Bertha the normal hippo, Moose the jock mouse, and Robin the snooty bird. While I do have my favorite villagers, I think it is nice to play with new faces. I am also pleased that the Train Station has a red roof, which is my personal favorite of its 4 default designs. Due to a misunderstanding, I am mistaken for the mayor. Honestly, this mistake was probably for the better as we all know what happens when you leave these villagers to govern themselves.

If you are curious about what Fireleaf's map looks like, it has a right facing beach with a river that goes horizontal before curving 90 degrees. It also has 6 lakes which I am really excited about. I know a lot of people here dislike lakes in their town, but I think they are a really nice geographic feature. I see a lot of potential in this town, and am excited to start developing it. I will post a picture of its map as soon as I have the means to do so.

After a quick meeting with Isabelle at the Town Hall, I decide to visit the other 2 villagers who could not attend the welcoming ceremony.

View attachment 222446

Egbert is someone I had in my old City Folk town, so seeing him here is a pleasant surprise. I am sure we will become fast friends.

View attachment 222447

I had Gruff in my other New Leaf town, but his stay there was too short for me to form much of an opinion about him. I look forward to having him as a resident.

After meeting the neighbors, Tom Nook and I went to work in finding a plot of land.

View attachment 222448

Here is where I decided to build my house. My tent looks rather puny next to such a grand building. I anticipate it will look really good once fully upgraded, but for now I am stuck in a tent during winter. Perhaps Isabelle will let me sleep in the Town Hall during that time.

View attachment 222449

During the tree ceremony, everyone got out of their houses to watch it. I feel kind of bad for them, since at this point I think it was around 1AM. Everyone seemed happy though.

I plan for this town to be more relaxing than Taiga was. I will not meticulously plan where villager plots will go, and I will let things happen more naturally. I always experience less burnout when I do that. I look forward to seeing what Fireleaf has to offer.

Now that Tom Nook has finished construction of my house, I can start to feel more like an actual mayor. It is not particularly impressive, but it will help in obtaining my Town Development Permit. Plus it's nice to sleep somewhere that is not the Town Hall for once. That old building can get real creepy at night.

00008.jpg

Looks like my house wasn't the only one Tom Nook built that night. He sure has become efficient with those 17 years of experience. As mayor of Fireleaf, I consider it my duty to welcome every new resident to this town. I have never had Canberra in my town before, so this should be interesting. Out of all the Uchis I could have received, she's honestly one of the better choices. She seems happy to meet me as well, so I expect good things will come from this friendship.

Later that night I was browsing TBT when I saw that someone's Kid Cat was in boxes. I'm actually fairly neutral about Kid Cat, not really having much of an opinion about him. I didn't really anticipate having him in my town, but for some reason I felt the urge to adopt him as a resident of Fireleaf.

00010.jpg

I think it's kind of nice to know that you prevented someone's villager from being voided. It's also nice having a villager that has a "history" before arriving in your town.

The following morning I woke up to this hideous sight:

attachment.php

Kid Cat decided to build his house right in front of the Town Hall. I'm honestly not sure if he could have found a location that was any worse. Thanks to my infinite wisdom, I decided not to plot reset at all in this town. I still don't plan on, but next time I will make sure to cover that area with patterns.

While I'm upset a perfectly good villager has been currently rendered a nuisance, I'm not giving up on Kid Cat yet. I plan on moving him to Taiga while I cycle him out of Fireleaf's memory. Then I will move him back to Fireleaf. He has a fairly adventurous personality, so I'm sure he will enjoy being able to travel the world a bit.

00011.jpg

I was able to obtain my Town Development Permit today, so I was able to place my first public works project. I chose a yellow bench because it was the cheapest option, and was able to pay it off today. Because of this, I will be able to access the map that appears when you start to demolish a PWP. If anyone was curious about what Fireleaf's map looks like, you can expect to see it tomorrow. I don't plan on keeping this bench around, but it might prove useful in keeping villagers away from this area, since I have plans to build a tower here. I'm pretty sure there is enough space for a 2/2 space project in here.

Other than that, I managed to overhear this conversation between Bertha and Egbert. Enjoy:

Day 5: Canberra and Egbert

Like me, Canberra has only been here a few days. However, she is already making an impression on the other residents of Fireleaf. In fact, I was a little apprehensive about Canberra when she first arrived, but I am really starting to like her. Today I got to witness 2 conversations between her and Egbert, both of which were fairly entertaining.

Poor Egbert. I think his chronic sleep deprivation is catching up to him.

On a related note, this Snowboy seems to have become a meeting spot for my villagers. I swear I always see someone next to him. He wasn't kidding when he told me he was really popular. I'm sure he's enjoying all the attention. Honestly, it's a little sad that he will be gone tomorrow.

The snow boy melting really adds to the dramatization of the conversation. Good job with your town so far. Also, why is Egbert so obsessed with books (i.e. Photo Albums, Food Books, etc.)?

Thank you for the kind words. Egbert is certainly becoming an eccentric character, and I look forward to seeing where he goes from here.

Day 6

The inevitable has finally happened. Snowboy has melted.

qh7vfSg.jpg

He was in fairly bad shape yesterday, so I knew he would be gone by today. This December has been unusually warm, which is not the greatest condition for snowpeople. Despite this, he still remained his cheerful self right up to the end. Though I was prepared for this moment, I will still miss him a little. I realize now that I have not posted a lot about him yet, but this Snowboy actually did become a fairly big part of Fireleaf.

J3ZH6TT.jpg

On a lighter note, the Garden Shop has opened up today. It looks kind of nice next to Nookling Junction. With its opening, Main Street looks a little less barren now.

MDKtR83.jpg

Redd was in town today and had a Graceful Painting for sale. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity to further the cultural development of Fireleaf. I don't know where he obtained this painting, but I'm sure that's not too important.

JPHsvYy.jpg

Special thanks to Gruff who has been such a helpful patron in Fireleaf's development. He has also requested a Zen Garden, and is so far the only villager to have requested anything at all. He should be given a medal for his work.

AFr4LSr.jpg

Here I am enjoying a pleasant snowfall on our newly constructed yellow bench.

6ZBKc1O.jpg

I can't believe I forgot to mention this yesterday, but Fireleaf has a new resident, Curlos! He moved next to the RV Campground, away from everyone else. Here he is enjoying my bug exhibit, which currently consists of a single pill bug. I never knew that watching a pill bug for 2 hours could be so exciting.

Gruff's antics already seem to be rubbing off on Egbert. I'm glad he was able to find a good mentor. I like Canberra, but I'm not sure she is the best influence on someone like Egbert.

Even though Snowboy has melted away, I do not want to just let his memory fade with him. What I have planned will ensure his memory stays with us forever...

I feel like making a new snowboy would be wrong... I'm excited to see what you have in store!

Egbert doesn't look like he's doing it right.... :"D

Main Street looks really cute with the new gardening shop! I sadly don't have one anymore because my Nookling store got totally upgraded! I miss the cute flowers so much :(

Excited to see your plan for snowboy! He will be missed, but he is in a better place! Rest in peace, snowboy! And congratulations on your pwp request!

Day 8: Snowboy Memorial Fountain

It was a frigid winter night when I created Snowboy. Though I honestly was not trying to accomplish much that night, I would go on to make history. The moment I laid eyes on him, it was apparent he was a masterpiece.

lpVv0RG.jpg

mNtujzX.jpg

Word of this perfect snowman spread quickly, first among the town and then among the world. He was not only a beautiful landmark, but an interesting person to talk to. Visitors would arrive to admire him, and some would even decide to move here.

ImLLbC2.jpg

y0fqZsO.jpg

Though Snowboy's form was considered just as stunning as ever, the truth was that this December was unusually warm, not great conditions for snowpeople. He tried remaining his cheerful self, but he knew his time was almost up. In his last day he became a lot more subdued and reflective. Villagers considered him to be a meeting place to discuss important things, and he made an effort to listen to their conversations, in the hopes that he might learn some things.

k0ZtCww.jpg

Snowboy had melted. The town mourned his loss, and there was pressure to do something to remember him. I decided to build a fountain, located in the spot where he once sat.

EIjZ7NN.jpg

The ceremony was later that evening. It was a memorial for Snowboy, and all he had done for Fireleaf. Nearly half the town arrived for the service. The life of a snowperson is pitifully short, but this fountain is made to last forever. I'm sure this is what Snowboy would have wanted. To be immortalized in a monument almost as gorgeous as he is. After the ceremony, morale in Fireleaf improved because even though Snowboy was gone, his presence could now be felt throughout the entire town. Instead of a bitter end, this event would mark a new beginning.

Day 9

After the Snowboy Fountain ceremony, there were a few other events to happen yesterday which I shall place here:

I always enjoy seeing villager conversations because they are always so entertaining. I'm surprised at simply how often Gruff and Egbert talk to each other. Honestly, I'm not even trying to make them do anything. Though Gruff often likes to act irritated, I think the sheer amount of time he has spent with Egbert shows he genuinely cares about their relationship, and that he really wants to be there as a mentor.

I know Egbert is slightly delusional, but as the mayor, I kind of want to fulfill his horchata dream. I'll discuss it with Isabelle at our next meeting...

IQpiDfJ.jpg

Here's Chrissy the peppy rabbit, who moved in a couple days ago. Her radiant personality has already caused her to make a mark on the town, but she gets a little jealous when someone else takes her spotlight.

As for what happened today, honestly not much. I did return a lost winter mitten to Canberra, who gave me an interesting gift.

I'm sure there is an interesting story as to why Canberra has a wheat field, but I have no idea what it is. She simply gave me the deed and walked away. Canberra sure can be an odd individual.

Oh my goodness, this is inspiring me to do something like this with my *theoretical* upcoming penguin town!

Day 10 - Toy Day

Happy Toy Day! Even though Jingle will not arrive for a few more hours, it's practically all the town will talk about. Well, except for Chrissy and Robin who won't let any holiday get in the way of talking about fashion.

Jingle is finally here, so we can get on to the main event! In order to mix things up this year, I agree to take on the role of Santa Claus. There aren't very many humans in this area, so this is a special opportunity. Unfortunately Kicks has yet to open so I'm stuck with my normal shoes, something Jingle immediately notices. It's not a huge deal though. Most of these villagers do not have a lot of experience with Santa, so most of them won't even notice.

On to delivering presents! I have most of the villager requests memorized, so I'm fairly confident I can get them all right.

Though most believed the act, a couple villagers were on to me. I did not stay around them for long.

At least Bertha baked cookies, which I consider worth potentially compromising my disguise.

Unfortunately I ended up getting Curlos and Kid Cat's presents mixed up. Other than that it was a very successful Toy Day. Jingle tells me to be a little more careful next year.

rAveduo.jpg

Hopefully I can get some Santa boots by then. Kicks will surely be open by next December.

Before departing to spread joy to other towns, Jingle pays his respects to the late Snowboy.

The aurora looks very serene tonight, especially next to Snowboy's fountain.

Back From Hiatus!

It's been almost 2 months since my last post here... This state of affairs must end. I had been occupied with other games during that time, but I finally have some time to play more in Fireleaf again. Anyway, here's the updated map:

I11D7HP.jpg

Wart Jr. has moved into the area above the town hall. Also, Curlos who used to live next to the campground has moved out. Other than that there have been no changes in the layout of Fireleaf.

The following images aren't from any specific day. They're just a collection of what I took during this thread's hiatus.

ezr5DBj.jpg

Timmy and Tommy had talked about upgrading their store, but I didn't expect them to do it during the holidays! They sure have a strong work ethic, but they should learn to take a day off once in a while.

The following day:

m4v7ar2.jpg

I'm excited to have T&T Mart as I really like the convenience store building. In fact I will probably avoid spending bells for a while so it doesn't upgrade too soon. After all, going into the same fully upgraded building gets mundane after a while, so I'll enjoy the novelty while I can.

TCnWyO3.jpg

u070R7H.jpg

Yeah you definitely have to be careful there, Canberra. I hear Gruff already started a site called "Animals of T&T Mart". Your picture could become a laughing stock throughout all of Fireleaf.

f7Xev0L.jpg

I forget what the context of this statement even was, but I love it regardless. In fact, I have a lot of connections with the potato chip industry, so I really felt like accomplishing Moose's dreams:

pL9jH5Z.jpg

As you can see, I had the entire Lay's graphic design department at my disposal. I am extremely satisfied with the finished product, and I hope Moose is as well. Accomplishing villager's dreams is such a rewarding thing to do.

Glad to see this thread resurrected! Ironically, just the other day I was actually thinking that I missed your updates.

Cleaning Up Fireleaf

Because of my time away from Fireleaf, weeds have unfortunately been allowed to grow and fester within the town. Leif's slothful personality didn't help matters, since when he finally decided to do something about it, the problem had become so bad he fainted from shock!

DJ56zV6.jpg

JVhmq9V.jpg

xZQAoeH.jpg

Great idea. This problem will be less intimidating if we work together. Though Leif may seem like he simply lies around all day, his unique connection with nature allows him to know exactly how many weeds we're dealing with. That way I'll know for sure when they're all gone.

9bxXQve.jpg

I immediately get to work. Most weeds are quite easy to spot, since Fireleaf still has a lot of open fields. Sure it's physically taxing, but that's the price I have to pay for neglecting this problem for so long.

SpL0sDE.jpg

Alright, there's the easy ones gone. These last 2 are going to prove a bit more difficult...

wu0pcjb.jpg

Wow, that took a while to find. And I still have no idea where the last weed is. I'm sure it won't be that long...

1 minute. I'm sure it will show up any minute now...

2 minutes. Gone through the town multiple times now...

3 minutes. Ugh, better check behind all the buildings.

4 minutes. Are you kidding me? It isn't behind any of them. Better continue the search I guess...

5 minutes. Now I'm getting tired, and I still haven't found that weed.

6 minutes. Starting to think about giving up. I don't even remember how many times I've ran around the town now.

7 minutes. I think I'm losing my mind now. Still haven't found that weed.

8 minutes. What am I even doing? Surely that single weed can't be doing that much damage to my town. Maybe Leif is just overreacting. I'd hate to let him down though...

9 minutes. I see weeds at every corner of my vision, yet none of them are real. These mirages are of the cruelest nature as I excitedly run towards them only to be further tired out. I fear that soon I will go completely mad...

10 minutes:

lvhlPLR.jpg

I finally find the wicked abomination hiding beneath a tree. I take an immense amount of satisfaction uprooting that vile entity. That thing took away 10 valuable minutes of my life, a crime I shall never forget.

Before I go back to Leif, Egbert needs to ask me an important question.

M1X04t3.jpg

I know exactly what to he needs...

c4DrU12.jpg

xs393eK.jpg

Now he will announce this truth to the world until the end of time or at least until he changes his greeting again. My dream is for this motto to spread across the entire town so that all of Fireleaf is united in one goal: the destruction of weeds forever. Only then will we make Leif truly happy.

QFneLOO.jpg

Okay, I guess he's pretty happy right now.

6ZcUCAE.jpg

I receive a lily record player, which is a really nice piece of furniture. That alone makes this whole ordeal worth it in the end.

After that, I'm way too tired to do anything else. I decide to take the rest of the day off.

Xrd72Qa.jpg

I should come here more often. Standing by the fire is so relaxing, especially during such a harsh winter.
