Isabelle forgot to mention that C.J. is visiting too!
I saw I had mail today and it was a letter from Drift!
On my main island, I stopped reading the notes. I think that after awhile they got repetitive for me. Reading this one made me chuckle a little. I’ll try to read and screenshot more letters that I get on this island.
I bought and placed the final land plot. I went island hopping immediately after placing this. I had set a ten NMT limit again but then bumped it to 15 after I used up the ten tickets. I ended up inviting Bonbon; I honestly didn‘t want her yet even though I am interested in her. I didn’t want another peppy either which was why I passed up on one other villager that I would’ve taken had they been a different personality.
I’m a bit sad this was my last plot, but at the same time I’m looking forward to finishing the tutorial and Project K.
Because I broke my rule, I decided to make a set of punishments for my rep:
1. The next move in will be random; no island hopping.
2. No more NMTs from my main island until after the next move in.
3. Do homework that I come up with, bythe end of what ever week that I start playing again. Failure to complete the homework on time means more homework with shorter due date and the move in after the next will also have to be a random move in.
I’ll list my homework assignments in a homework sub-category that I’ll make along with a school life category page.
After I went island hopping, I visited some of my villagers and chatted with them.
I was happy to see that I could give Benedict gifts now.
I think Benedict is definitely growing on me more. I still think he looks more like a cranky than a lazy, well until he makes facial expressions lol. His facial expressions are silly but they’re kinda cute.
I was happy to see Flora was no longer sick.
I feel like peppies feel definitely more peppy in New Horizons than they did in New Leaf; I don’t remember much of New Leaf but I know I didn’t get annoyed with my peppies at all while here I get tired of them quick. I have zero energy right now and when I talk to them, I can feel how much energy they have, it makes me feel more tired lol
I gave Cherry some wrapped coconuts when i talked to her.
I visited Goose and he gave me a diy that I didn’t have yet.
I love how proud he looks lol.
I caught Rodney singing by the bridge.
I visited Blaire now that she is unpacked and settled in.
I did sit on the cushion right after she said that; I was hoping she would say something, but she didn’t lol. It’s weird & funny that the villagers don’t say anything even if I went to lie down on their beds.
FrizzyHair’s Fifth Island Hopping Adventure: 12/2/24
I initially limited myself to spending ten NMTS for this island session; but after spending ten, I extended the limit by five. I used all fifteen tickets.
1. Sterling - tempted but skip for now.
He is not on my list of villagers that I’m interested in, but as soon as I saw him, I felt like he should be. He’s another villager I used to have zero interest in because I never liked any of the eagle villagers. But, my time here chatting with @Yanrima~ and hearing about her favorite villagers, ocs & story ideas, seeing her artwork, and screenshots of her island all helped in some way make me more interested in him (and Knox too). I certainly appreciate his design much more now. I’ll have to add him to my picture when I have time to update it .
2. Chevre - not interested.
It’d be interesting if the villagers we met on the islands remembered us if we found them again on another island. It makes me wonder if they’d be mad that I didn’t invite them to my island or that I left them on the island with all the trees cut down? lol
3. Jitters - not interested
I think he is one of the bird villagers whose design I like best but, that means little since I still am not interested in him.
4. Jitters - still not interested lol.
Hi again lol.
5. Hornsby - skip for now.
I have him still on my main island, so skip for now.
6. Rizzo - not interested.
I really don’t like the mice villagers, except for Broccolo.
7. Cleo - a little tempting but skip for now.
At one point I was interested in her, but now, not so much though I was a little tempted to invite her.
8. Kyle - tempting but skip for now.
He’s a villager that I was considering to represent Iwai and the hanged man confidant if I didn’t decide to make him as a player character. I decided to skip for now since I wanted someone that I was interested in but that I’m not considering to represent anyone.
9. Shino - tempting but skip for now.
This was kinda tough but I really didn’t want another peppy.
10. Vic - not interested.
I have no interest in any of the bulls or cows.
11. Cashmere - a little tempted only because I don’t have her amiibo card.
12. Plucky - not interested.
I may like some of the chickens but I don’t like any of the hens, though I think Plucky could grow on me. I like her design much more than the other hens’ designs.
13. Beau - not interested in at the moment.
I think later on I’d like to give him a chance though, since I believe he’s @Xara ’s favorite and I’d like to give him a chance. I think he is pretty cute!
14. Hamphrey - not interested in at the moment.
I forgot to take a screenshot while I was talking to him. I think I’m neutral about him; I do think he’s kinda cute but I don’t have a strong impression of him - negative or positive.
15. Bonbon - invited
At this point, I was kicking myself for not taking Shino since Bonbon is one of the villagers that I was considering to represent Chihaya and the wheel of fortune arcana, and I wanted to avoid taking villagers that I might want to keep permanently so I can cycle through as many as I can. I got some other plans for villagers that represent someone in Persona 5 but they’re more for when my island is decorated and close to being done, not to mention when I’m done with the tutorial.
Again, I was trying to avoid getting another peppy, but I ended up inviting another one lol.
Concluding thoughts: I’m honestly annoyed with myself. I should’ve stuck with the ten ticket limit. I am happy I found Bonbon since I am interested in her, but I didn’t want her yet. I think I was way too picky and should’ve picked Sterling or Shino . At the same time, I love island hopping and since this was my last plot, I wanted to keep looking a bit longer.
I’ll update the image if I think of anything else that i could make that would fall under this category.
This page is where I’ll keep track of the assignments that I give myself. As mentioned in this post, since I made some rules for myself, I want to give my island rep some punishments for breaking them, which will be given as homework assignments along with a few extra rules to follow until I’ve fulfilled the conditions for them. I may assign my rep some homework from time-to-time even if I don’t break my rules; I feel like it might help me get back to working on my island and playing again even if it is just for a few minutes. It might help me narrow my focus down to a few things and help minimize how overwhelmed I get with how much I want to do or with what I need to do (like getting my island rating up).
I felt like my journal needed a school category even if I only post a few things under it, since a large part of Persona 5 takes place in school. I might consider posting more pictures with some of the game’s class questions and maybe try to make some of my own too later depending on how I feel. The ones that I put together with the dialogue choices were a lot of fun to make but they also took a lot of time. Depending on if I decide to make more, I may add a category here for them and also for some other Harv’s studio projects.
The next move in will be random; no island hopping.
No more NMTs from my main island until afterthe next move in.
Do homework that I come up with, by 5/20/25 - 12 AM. Failure to complete the homework on time means more homework with shorter due date and the move in after the next will also have to be a random move in.
Homework:
Take a screenshot of my island map and update the image in the introduction and also add a picture of my map to the map development post.
Do at least three Nook Mile tasks.
Gift at least one villager wrapped coconuts
Post proof that I did each homework in a new post, replying or quoting this one. For the first homework, the screenshot that I take of the island map is enough.
For the conditions, edit the post when they are fulfilled and write update with the date and share a screenshot of the random move in.
For this first assignment, I kept the homework small and simple since it has been a good amount of time since I last played and I want to make it as least overwhelming as possible. Just thinking of what I still have to do and my general plans makes me a little overwhelmed, so, I assume that I will definitely be a bit overwhelmed once I get in the game.
I’ve been procrastinating a bit on updating the image in my journal’s introduction post, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to push myself to finally do that along with a few things in the game.
There are a few other images in my journal that I may want to update too, but I’ll probably wait to do them on another day since photo editing sometimes takes a significant amount of time.

I finally updated the image in the introduction; I should have done that several months ago. I think the reason I didn’t update it as I got each villager was because I thought it’d be better to do it once I got the tenth plot filled. I stopped playing sometime after I got my tenth villager. I could have still updated the post any time even though I stopped playing and I did think about it, but I never did until now.
I did four Nook Mile tasks.
I got this task done after I gifted Flora some wrapped coconuts (see screenshots for the third part of my homework assignment). The first two villagers I talked to for the task were Tangy, who taught me a reaction and Cherry, who also received some wrapped coconuts.
I bought some random items from Nook’s Stop and also a duster from Nook’s Cranny.
I collected six oranges and sold them.
I caught an octopus, mussel and a mantis shrimp. I already had donated an octopus and mantis shrimp to the museum, so I sold those; I donated the mussel since the museum still needed one.
It has been so long since I last played that I don’t even remember why I stopped playing when I did; I think it was because I was focusing on something else, but no idea what specifically it was. In any case, it is nice to be back to playing ACNH again even if just for a little bit since I’m sure it’ll happen again, even though I’d like to consistently be able to play this and do the other things that I’m doing right now.
May 13
I was a bit nervous when I saw this announcement since I haven’t gotten a photo from any of my villagers yet and I was worried about getting a visitor that I was interested in (I forgot at the time that my next move in would have to be a random move in because of the punishment I set for myself for going over the NMT limit while island hopping).
For some reason, I very vaguely remember something being mentioned the last time I played about the shop being upgraded soon. I was was surprised to see this announcement since I thought it was being upgraded the next time that I played the game. I looked at my last entry (under the tutorial section of my journal), but didn’t see any mention of it there.
Apparently I missed Frizzy’s birthday; it was April 1st! I hope the cake is still good . It’s kind of fitting that the cake that Mom sent is red considering the Phantom Thieves aesthetic is red and black.
Tangy ran up to me on my way to the campsite and she taught me the sleepy reaction. This too is kinda fitting considering that I named the Phantom Thieves “Go to Sleep” in my current playthough lol (and also because Morgana is always telling Joker to go to sleep).
I had no idea that it was mushroom season on my island so I was surprised to see some mushrooms on my way to the campsite.
I updated the image and post for my campsite visitors. Today’s visitor was Hamphrey; I was both relieved and a little disappointed it wasn’t someone that I was interested in. I knew I shouldn’t be disappointed since I’m not ready to move out anyone, but I couldn’t help it. I always get excited when I get campsite visitors even on my main island and more often than not, I get disappointed when it isn’t a villager that I’m interested in.
I picked some weeds while I just wandered around my island for a bit. Then I decided to pay Cherry a visit to gift her some wrapped coconuts. I posted what she gave me with the rest of my homework that I turned in here.
A good reminder that I need to change her catchphrase when I can . I think though, if I decide to have a villager to represent the death arcana, I’ll go with Olivia instead. While I think Cherry would work, I personally prefer Olivia; plus Olivia would look better in the doctor’s outfit (the character that I’d have her represent is a doctor in the game).
Next, I stopped by and visited Flora to gift her some wrapped coconuts. As much as I like her, I think I want her to leave first. She doesn’t go well with my island theme or plans at all. It still has been nice to have her though; she is really cute though I never was interested enough to invite her on my main island if I ever did come across her while island hopping or at my campsite.
Sorry about that, Flora; I can’t make any promises . It’ll probably happen many more times considering how my interests and focus always changes .
After catching up with Flora, I got started with the rest of my homework. I had completed the talk to your neighbors task, and three more tasks: I first went shopping, then gathered some oranges and sold them to the Nooklings, and then I went diving for three seas creatures.
Before I went diving, I dug up two fossils and visited Redd’s shady boat.
I didn’t really look at all the paintings. I took a quick look at a guide to double check that the proper painting was genuine and then I bought it. It was kind of a tough call to make seeing there was at least one other genuine painting there, but I know I will have plenty of more chances to get it.
After I went diving, I paid the museum a visit. I first donated the mussel and then I had Blathers assess the two fossils that I had brought him; the fossils were an Ankylo tail and Stego skull. The museum didn’t have them yet so I donated both of them.
I checked up on @Doo Drift. (Side note: I admit that every time I see Drift, I accidentally think “Doo” instead of Drift because of how long I’ve associated Doo and Drift with each other since Doo has Drift as her profile picture.)
I really missed Drift; he is so adorable . I really don’t want to let him leave when I have to let him go, but I will have to in order to go through with my plans for my island . I may consider have him temporarily move to my main island though ; I just got Felicity’s picture a few days ago and just need her to ask me to leave now.
The last thing that I did on this day was unlock the island evaluations and I chopped some wood.
This was the part of the tutorial that I was least looking forward to, though I honestly don’t remember how easy or hard it was for me to get a five star rating on my main island.
May 14
This made me chuckle. It looks like Drift is going to need lots of help with that once I build Shujin Academy .
I’m still not sure how I’ll design my island. I’ve been thinking of maybe changing the aesthetic to that of mementos rather than how it looks like here. I know I want to make it look differently than how this dream address looks while it still looks true to the game or close enough; I still want to add areas that they did not include. I still have a long way to go before I reach this point, though. It’s probably best I don’t think about it right now since the project is going to be big and just thinking about it can be overwhelming .
I also got the Proper Painting in the mail from Redd; I headed straight to the museum to donate it.
I always kinda wished Blathers would talk a little bit about the painting and/or the artist just like how he tells me facts about bugs and fish I donate. Maybe for next AC game, there will be an NPC that is a history scholar?
I had to take a picture when I saw Tangy and Rodney sitting together on the plaza; I thought they both looked really cute together. I almost forgot that I even had Rodney (tbh, I forgot entirely which villagers I had ).
I still can’t believe I got Rodney as my first campsite villager. I really wanted Rodney but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to have a villager represent the Tower confidant since the character isn’t one of my favorites. Even though I’ve played P5 a lot, I still am not sure if I like Shinya. I think I like him more than Ichiko Ohya but that isn’t saying much.
I still have a long time until I need to decide who I want as my permanent villagers but, right now this is what I’m thinking (I’ll need to update the images in this post at some point again and also finish what I was writing last time):
Punchy for the Magician Arcana, to represent Morgana.
Kabuki for the Emperor Arcana to represent Yusuke.
Ankha for the Hermit Arcana to represent Futaba.
Étoile for the Empress Arcana to represent Haru.
Audie or Caroline for the Lovers Arcana to represent Ann. I’m leaning a little towards Audie partly because I already included her in one of the images I put together for the School Life collage.
Tasha for the Priestess Arcana to represent Makoto
Ken for the Justice Arcana to represent Akechi; I used Knox in my collages to represent one “version” of him. Ken would represent the “black mask” Akechi
Cyrano for the Sun Arcana to represent Yoshida
Agnes for the Devil Arcana to represent Ohya. As much as I don’t really care for her (maybe it is more her design), I like the idea of having her since she wants to uncover the truth and one theme I really like in games or anime is the pursuit of truth and not accepting what the government or really anyone tells you without question.
Pecan or Poppy for the Faith Arcana to represent Yoshizawa
Other player characters:
Iwai (if I don’t decide to go with a villager for him. Otherwise, I was thinking Kyle would be best)
Maruki (same as Iwai; not sure yet what villager could represent him)
I was thinking maybe Akechi or Yoshizawa as player characters instead but I honestly like the idea of having Ken of Akechi and Pecan or Poppy as Yoshizawa more.
Sojiro maybe?
Cherry started singing in front of Leif shortly after I took a picture of Tangy and Rodney; darn Leif closed his eyes when I took the picture though .
I vaguely remember when I first got to this point on my main island how I expected something really cool when I was talking from the villager who I was talking to just as I did again, here .
Well, it’s the thought that counts, right?
It looks like I have to stop here for now since I can only attach 30 pictures.
