Those would actually be more interesting than this idea. Maybe it could be done on a monthly basis which would be fun =P However, there are some things that should be tweaked when it comes to that time (when voting/nominating).

there are way too many people on this website at this point, and for there to be awards with winners that not everyone's heard of...? essentially, popularity would win, alliances would be rampant, and there would be more people upset than happy.

it seems like this would otherwise function as a good community building activity, given the right circumstances (i.e., everyone knew each other, small population of people, a less sporadic flow of in-and-out members every day). unfortunately, i think this forum has become something else entirely at this point.

not to mention saboteurs! :gyroidconfused:

Which would have also happened with the Member of the Month idea. However, with the Member Awards, there are more opportunities for people when it comes to being nominated and being voted for. However, you are right, people will try to band together to make sure one specific member won and that another definitely wouldn't.

It's just a shame that there are people who don't want to play fair on the forum...

It sounds alright. It'll be a cool new feature if this was added.
