Bam answers to "Boom"
Diana answers to "BAM" and "Diana"
Zell answers to "ZL"
Beau answers to "Bew"
Erik answers to "Ee-rik"
Lopez answers to "Lopaz", "Fauna" and "Bruce"
Fuchsia answers to "Lopeez" and "Fuchsia"
Fauna answers to the regular "Fauna"
Bruce answers to the regular "Bruce" Wayne... well barely.
Deirdre answers to "Deirdre": the only SANE villager!
Kapp'n answers to EVerythiNG! D:<

And for the game to understand me clearly I have to talk in a monotone voice. It's so frustrating when I am trying to find villagers!

I thought that Beau was pronounced "Bew" :0! Like the beginning of Beautiful. Just googled it and apparently it's pronounced "Bow"
I learned something new LOL

I have a hard time with the megaphone also, sucks not being an English speaker when a lot of the names are in English.

I came to this thread with the intention of saying the above, but seems you beat me to it.

And I agree with Pocky, I am not English either so sometimes I just have no idea how to pronounce some of the names... but mostly, I seem to get it right. The horror is going to start when I'll try to call Merengue, though. For the love of me, I am not sure if I can even pronounce that.

I pronounce Merengue as it is pronounced in Spanish (as the English and French is spelled Meringue so I figured that they had given her a Spanish name)
She never responds

When I had the megaphone I would usually just find a clip on youtube on how to pronounce a name and let that voice be the one calling. I couldn't pronounce any of the names correct :(

I've given up on using the megaphone, lol, since I can never get the names right. :p

I am aware I have a New York accent and some times a French accent (according to a British professor).
But why so many "no reply, maybe they aren't nearby" or "no response?" And please someone make KAPP'N SHUT IT! 8^D
Anyways I am glad I'm not alone. I hope they could fix the megaphone by the next game.

Merengue is the only one that answers correctly without fail for me, lol. She also answers to Mira, but I can kind of see the confusion there.

Ankha is Kapp'n v2.0 though. Ankha responds to Rosie. Ankha responds to Joan. Stahp it, Ankha.

Oh, wow, I didn't even know that Kapp'n could answer! All my villagers respond correctly unless they're in their houses or something. For Merengue, I just say her name as "muh-reng."

You really can't call Phoebe.. My sister did once, by accident (trying to call Gwen [don't ask]) but never had luck after that.

Yeah the megaphone doesn't work very well LOL

I can't get Chrissy to ever respond to it.. but I have kitty there, so their names sound similar when pronounced I guess..

And Phoebe LOL Oh god.

She responds sometimes to "Fo-eeb" but she only does if I say it super fast.. even though the way to say Phoebe is "Fee-bee". I'm wondering if the villagers understand the things better in their own language.. because I notice when they're talking, the way they speak english is pretty different.. like Three is Thr-eh etc.

Whitney never responds. I don't even know what to do with that. Maybe I should try "White-Neh" or something sometime.

I think the English translators screwed up and meant to call her "Meringue" instead of "Merengue." You know, it'd make more sense to name her after a dessert than after a genre of Caribbean music.

Phoebe is impossible to call. I pronounce it the right way--Fee Bee. I try the way it looks--Foe Bee. Nothing.

Ahh, I feel justified in feeling annoyed that Sally was responding to "Snowman" ! Put megaphone away for now, meh.

Luckily if I say their names loudly I get it. Awkward thing is my parents are in the room and they're probably concerned for my mental health

I get her to come by saying "Fo-Eeb" REALLY fast. She won't get it if you say it slow.. or like a normal word. She's weird.
