Quick question - still new to the permits, so I'm working out the controls, but is it possible to make paths that wander and curve or just straight lines? My island is very natural, so sidewalk-like paths would look out of place.
I think if you do a checkerboard type of path you could make it appear to curve and wander with squares and lines. It wont look as natural as the grass wear in New Leaf, but you could probably make it work. Or go with custom paths a la New Leaf. The downside is that you could kick them up accidentally.
I made a straight path right away from one of my bridges to my incline. Even turning it and rounding the edges I hated how straight it looked. So I got rid of it and instead I make circles of dirt path from one point to another. When spaced just right they don't connect, and you can offset them from each other so the path shape is less rigid and it give a nice "stepping stone" look.
Thanks for the suggestions! Like I said, I only unlocked it the other day, so I'm still getting used to the mechanics. I'll play around with skipping spaces and making a "stepping stone" look, maybe mixing different wood, stone, and dirt will give me what I'm looking for. Fortunately, I don't need a lot of pathing.
