Mayors not being 'girly' enough?

I don't think so. My character doesn't look very feminine. She's got the boy hair that's pointed on the end, a sweater, striped pants and black boots. That's all I ever wear. I've had one girl comment on it in Club Tortimer, asking if it was a boy haircut and nothing else. If you've got a liking for a tomboy look, wear it with pride! I know I do.

Woah, thank you! I always try my best to be /decently/ fashionable. Or you know, presentable.

No, not at all! I think it's ridiculous how much people want to police others especially in regards to gender. However you want to dress or act is up to you regardless of what you identify with. I wear a bunny shirt in game and I've gotten comments on it before and that's like a mild annoyance compared to the kinds of things people say to my friends. It can range from rude to offensive. That's why everyone I know is more selective about who they interact with now. You can't really do anything about meeting rude people on the island but I just hit the wifi or leave and come back.

Everyone should be free to dress up their mayor/characters as they see fit, without having to worry about some random player being "bothered" by it.

Are my mayors "girly"? Well, yeah. But that's because I really love some of the QR dresses I've found, and they make my characters look cute.

I've also given my mayors boy haircuts along with the girly outfits, so ya know, whatever floats your boat. Who cares what other people think; it's your game and your mayor. ^_^
