Mayors not being 'girly' enough?

All of my mayors and majority of my alts dress in a generally girly style, but I do have a female alt who is more of a tomboy as well as a male alt. I say it's fine if you don't want to dress as 'girly.' Animal Crossing is where you can be yourself and design your town, house and mayor the way YOU want. Who cares what the random people on CT say?

Well, I have a male mayor and to be honest: He looks the most time not really
masculine in my opinion. But I don't care, if he looks more like a girl. I just chose
the clothes and accessories I like and I don't care what another people say about
my character. The same thing is also sometimes with my female characters. They
also look not every time "girly".

Uhhh that's rude!!! I say wear whatever makes you happy! I love wearing the blue plaid shirt and cargo pants which aren't "feminine" but I like it!!! Whatevs to that person :>

Two of my mayors have masculine names even though they're girls and wear dresses, it still confuses people. I don't care anymore because they're exactly the way I like them.

So many times people thought my mayor was a boy. Once while island hopping someone called me "disgusting and terrible" after she realized my mayor was actually a girl lol. Had to look at my TPC to figure it out.

Even if your mayor has a boyish hairstyle, it should be obvious she's a girl by her eyes.
Some of the girl faces are quite gender-neutral though. Like mine.

Don't worry about what others think about your own style. Wear clothes that make you happy, period. No one has the right to tell you how to play (except for a few rules in being polite, of course, but you get the point!).

My second character is a male named Pam-- I designed him specifically to be more feminine. He has messy bed hair (which is gender-neutral) and he likes cross-dressing; right now he's wearing a girl's school dress and a star clip. It makes him look cute, and I don't think Mabel or Gracie judged him when he was buying women's outfit. x)

I'm a male mayor and I mostly wear male clothes but I do have this one overall dress I liked so much that I brought it. I looked so cute!

All my mayors are androgynous :) Who cares? That person who said that obviously has their own issues. Now put some more boy clothes on your girl mayor and come over and dance with my boy mayor. He is currently wearing the blossoming kimono and has never looked lovelier :)

If even Gracie, the fashion snob, lets you wear whichever clothes you desire regardless of whether your mayor is male or female, then it doesn't matter. Go ahead and let your mayor wear whatever clothes you want your mayor to wear! :)

my boy mayor is wearing a dress and has purple hair

**** gender roles... wear whatever you want bucko

I dunno. My female Mayors are always wearing jeans/shorts and practical shirts (plaid <3) because they spend all day running around, digging stuff up, planting bushes, fishing, cutting down trees...

...wearing a pastel dress just seems impractical :p

I just dress how I want to dress in-game c: Sometimes I feel like being girly, sometimes I don't either way it shouldn't matter. If that's how you want to dress your mayor then you should be allowed to do so. :)

Wow, I never knew somebody would actually comment about it because I've only gotten the same phrases like "hi thanks, ill end" but you can dress your mayor however you want. It's your character, it's a game, dress your mayor how you want, not how others want. <3

I'm a girl and I suit reds, purples and pinks in real life, but I'm certainly not the girliest of girls out there. I guess the overall feel of myself and the town just happens to be "nostalgic"; beauty and pretty pastel pinks are nothing more than a distant second to identifying my own personality, enjoying a more suburban life and finding a good excuse to fit in as many references to the videogames I've played while growing up as I possibly can (which actually references every clothing design I've worn so far haha).

So yeah, I'm too old to consider myself to be part of the so-called "popular crowd", but I'm not letting that bother me. You are happiest being YOU, first and foremost. :)

My character wears dresses 50% of the time but irl I would not be caught dead in a dress or skirt I hate them so much.

One of my least favorite things about ACNL is the concept of clothing being masculine vs feminine. I hate having Label making snappy comments at me when I'm buying accessories. I think it's dumb that this person was mad about that.

Personally, I'm a girl, my mayor is a girl, and she wears dresses. Sometimes she'll wear a sweater and pants but overall she looks very feminine. I just really love some of the QR codes for dresses- they're my favorite!

I also hate when Label makes little comments on accesories like when I bought my Santa beard and she said it's for boys but I could pull if off. Gee, thanks for your permission, Label
