Max island medals is at least 99,999- CONFIRMED!!

I can officially confirm 9,999 is NOT the max number of island medals, as I have officially reached 10,000 (10,005 to be specific), meaning the max can't be any less than 99,999. For the doubters who often want me to "pic or it didn't happen", well, here you go, here's the 10,000+ medals I just earned (should I get the 89,994 now to get 99,999, or stop?).

I started the "quest" back in December, so 7 months of touring daily. What's worse, I earned the gold tour badge long before it, but wanting to have every island item meant I spent most of them- I was regretting it until now, because I know those 5,000 would only put me at 15,000 now. Geez, Nintendo, you REALLY want players to play this game, don't you???

Thank you. My year two goal was reached rather quickly (the goal was to reach what I thought was the max at 9,999, but part of me wants to keep going, because I'm kind of hooked on these- especially the tuna, giant dragonfly and spider crab since they all pay 20 for gold).

Because that's the 3DS, not Animal Crossing which doesn't use arbitrary amounts (bells go to 99,999, and 999,999,999 in the ABD). Since 99,999 is the max amount you can hold before it's put into a "bag", this indicates the amounts they use to store bells is the same amount they'd use for medals (I highly doubt they'd put in extra code to stop it at some weird amount, since they don't for the bells). Actually, while we're on the topic, 9,999 is the max amount villagers will spend on items in Re-Tail, as well as 999,999 is the max Reese will let you charge anyone, so all 9's would be its max.

It's impressive that you've managed to do that. Nice to be able to prove the point though, I have seen people debating it a fair bit. I think trying to see whether 99,999 medals is the limit would drive you insane. I would imagine the medal limit would be the same as the bell stack limit, it would make sense.

Great job.Too bad the game doesn't give a special prize for earning that much.They should have had a rare furniture set that you could get by earning a certain amount of medals.Like, a prize for 2,000,5,000,10,000, etc, etc.That would encourage people to keep playing the games.
