Yeah, I still have him. He's my favorite villager, so I plan to keep him unless something goes terribly wrong.. (like with Julian or Lolly, oh no)

Most of my trades usually are fine, but whenever I get the error with someone we eventually are able to trade after a few tries.

Check your firewall settings. I had that problem recently. Nintendo has a troubleshooter that says to delete your wifi connection settings in your DS. The set up a new one through your modem, but use the "WPS" Push button connector (on the modem/router) to have them find each other, instead of manually connecting them in the DS.

After I did that, and power cycled my router, all has been normal.
