I reported him too.

Lucas, your signature doesn't even make sense in the context of what happened.

How did you get scammed, couldn't you have flicked the switch?

He went in, got Maple, stood where he was supposed to drop the bells, and then left. I was typing to him and then the message popped up that he was leaving.

What?

He said he wanted to talk to Maple first, so I showed him where her house was. He went in and talked to her. Then he came outside to the place he said he would drop the money. He stood there a while, said "FOOL", and then while I was typing some things, he left.

You could have prevented it if you turned off your wifi..?

But the only a visitor can leave is through the train station. Why did you let him run off and not flick the wifi switch. You should always keep a close eye on people visiting. I'm sorry about what happened by the way, Lucas is a **** for doing what he did!

Once I realized what was going on, Maple was already persuaded to move to his town and there wasn't much else that could be done.

Even if I had flicked the wifi switch, he had Maple and I didn't have anything in return. It wouldn't have prevented the scamming. But thank you.

Did you save after they acquired MPle? If not, you could have flicked the switch and she would've stayed in your town..

I thought that the game had to be saved before they could move to his town otherwise if you flicked the wifi switch it's like he never visited. Omg I'm going to have to completely change the way I do villager sales now

I don't even remember if I did or not. I probably did, mainly because I've heard stories of people'e save files corrupting after they turned the game off without saving. Also, this has never happened to me before, so I didn't exactly know how to prevent it.

I'll go talk to Maple, but I probably saved. I save a lot to make sure nothing goes wrong.
Update:

"Moved out.
Maple"

on her door.

In the future if you do a deal this way never save straight after they have talked to the villager. Wait until they have dropped all the bells. If they do something like try to make a run for it just flick the wifi switch they won't get them then. Also if the person has no wifi ratings ask for the bells upfront on their first deal just to be on the safe side. Again sorry this happened to you :(

Yeah. I felt sorry for him since he said he was scammed out of Stitches. Oh well. Thank you.
