How did you get scammed, couldn't you have flicked the switch?

He went in, got Maple, stood where he was supposed to drop the bells, and then left. I was typing to him and then the message popped up that he was leaving.

He said he wanted to talk to Maple first, so I showed him where her house was. He went in and talked to her. Then he came outside to the place he said he would drop the money. He stood there a while, said "FOOL", and then while I was typing some things, he left.

I don't even remember if I did or not. I probably did, mainly because I've heard stories of people'e save files corrupting after they turned the game off without saving. Also, this has never happened to me before, so I didn't exactly know how to prevent it.

In the future if you do a deal this way never save straight after they have talked to the villager. Wait until they have dropped all the bells. If they do something like try to make a run for it just flick the wifi switch they won't get them then. Also if the person has no wifi ratings ask for the bells upfront on their first deal just to be on the safe side. Again sorry this happened to you
