Are you a fan of maple syrup? As a Canadian, I do enjoy it but I'm not obsessed. Most maple syrup desserts are too sweet for me.

Also I got my cat liquid medicine this month and it was literally maple syrup flavoured. Is it just because we are Canadian? Cause that's just going too far lmao.

Yes, I love maple syrup! I came for a place that basically specializes in it (I don’t live in Canada though...). I get the good kind, not the fake stuff that most grocery stores in the U.S. sell.

Why is "This stuff is my life!" not an option in the poll? So what if it's the fake stuff the sell here in the U.S? I still love it. Like a lot. The one thing I don't like is when it drips everywhere and I have to clean it up.

I have a bottle of fake stuff in my pantry right now so don't worry.

Voted for it being alright. Again, it’s one of those edible things I don‘t hate, but also won’t go out of my way to eat (on pancakes or whatever).

HECK YES! Maple syrup or I'm not having pancakes. I can drink the stuff on its own!

I mostly use it in place of honey to sweeten some of my heartier black tea or spiced tea. I keep a small bottle on hand at all times.

Not quite the same thing, but I have a fondness for maple sugar candy (usually comes in the shape of a leaf). I can't eat much, as it's so sweet, but it reminds me of my grandfather, who used to bring a small package for my brother and me every Thanksgiving. Eat a piece, and I'm five years old again, running to get a hug from him.

100% yay! I really like putting maple syrup on pancakes. I'll admit I haven't put maple syrup on other foods, but it tastes good on its own.

Fellow Canadian here, I also love maple syrup, and Gaston is my favorite villager ever I just feel like I had to add this random information

It's okay, but it's not something I go out and buy myself. I also don't really eat anything that it goes on unless someone else makes it either, so there's not much of a point in having any around.

I don't like maple flavored things though. They're too sweet for me.

I hate it. It’s too sweet, it’s sticky, it makes things soggy, and I just don’t like the taste of maple flavored anything.

Ok, controversial time!! I hope you guys are ready for what I'm about to lay on you.
Do you ever just...

drink maple syrup?

Mind that if you do, do you drink the good kind or the fake? Sorry if you hate this a lot.

I've never tried to drink maple syrup personally, it's much too thick.

In the winter though sometimes people pour the good maple syrup on snow & let it freeze a bit and then eat it off with a little stick. It's like a maple candy lmao

I used to use the fake stuff for pancakes, but sometime last year I was in the grocery store and decided "YOLO I'm going to try real maple syrup for the first time in my life even though it's a lot more expensive."

I CAN'T GO BACK. The fake stuff tastes like garbage now. Oh well, it's not like I eat pancakes all the time.

I use maple syrup for pancakes and occasionally for recipes that call for it, but that's really it. One small bottle of it can take me about 6 months to get through.
