I just got my third acnl copy today so now I have my main town, my cycle town and the new town which I want to turn into a natural-looking place. The thing is, I dont know if I'll be able to manage two towns at once, or rather, I'm not very confident about it and I'm scared of neglecting one of them. If you have more than one town (that's not a cycle town) how do you do it? I'd love to hear some tips!
I think it's possible. I only have one town though, but I know people who have 3 and more lol. You just have to prioritize a little and things will be okay. One tip I have learned is if you don't want to play in one of your towns for a while, look for a villager who is wanting to move out. When they ping you, if you tell them no, and then save your game, you can stop playing for a while and no one will accidentally move out until you start up that town again. I would also recommend using the beautiful town ordicance if you don't want to have too many weeds to worry about, etc.
I now have quite a few towns. Phantom9026 gave you good advice. If I play I only open 2 towns at the most but usually just play one. The others are in different times which allows me to enjoy seasons and merchandise regularly. I've never cycled and have no desire to do that. Oddly enough my extra towns turned out better than my main town. Learned better ways of doing things and how to plan themes and layouts.
I have three towns. My main is mostly done as far as landscaping/decorating goes. I still tweak it every now and again, but usually playing that town doesn't take a long time unless I pick a project to work on like redoing a room or an area or something. My second town is coming along. I'm working on it right now trying to find paths I like that fit the theme. Rambling, my third town is kind of new so there isn't a super whole lot to do other than buy things. I take it in small doses. I have school and work so when I get short breaks I'll pick one up and play for the day and do basic errands (check shops, look for move pings, etc) and do that throughout the day with each town. Just playing when I get a chance. I haven't gotten bored with any of my towns yet.
I have two towns and while at first it was fun, it's become rather stressful for me to manage and takes up so much free time since I'm always concerned about villagers moving in and out. (I didn't play for two days and one moved out without warning, it was only luck it happened to be one I was gonna move out anyway). I wish I'd only stuck to one.
I have 3 real towns. Main and guest town get played everyday. All my towns are set in a different month and time. No way would I play 3 Pave days.
Guest town I play for a short period and my main town gets played for a long time.
My third town only gets opened when I have some free time. When I need to take a break I stop a mover and than save/quit. Put the game in the case and stick a label with the last day played. The activity log isn't helpful if you have a lot of copies. You could put it in your game notes too.
I've read that people rotate their towns. One person has 6 towns and just plays one town at a time. To keep track she has a calendar. Plays awhile in the town and than moves on to the next one.
I now have 2 towns. One of which, Hyllus, is currently being used for breeding hybrids and selling things at high prices (because I have bell boom.) My main town, Oxalis, is being used to look pretty, have a cool dream, and keep my favourite villagers.
