Okay, I'm kind of shocked. One of my game cartridges didn't quite work right. When I putted it in my 3DS it didn't show the game so I thought the cartridge was dead. When I then tried to hold it as much down as I possibly could (and didn't remove my fingers, and made sure the cartridge didn't pop up) it then showed up and I clicked it. It all seemed just fine until I booted my character up. The "Your game is loading" blue framed box turned red and it read "The save data is corrupted and will be deleted". I then quickly removed my fingers from the cartridge and let the game pop up to the top, where the screen then turned black and read the "Your cartridge was removed thing". I then booted my game up and tried again, (still had to hold the card down to the bottom) and it worked perfectly! :D

So... Did I just save my game data?

(Sorry if this was confusing, my native language isn't english:()

Whoa...I think you did. :o so you can play your ACNL game perfectly? With nothing missing from your town or anything?

Why this thread doesnt appeared when my town got corrupted?
Anyways, good luck! i hope ur town doesnt get corrupted again n_n!

Wow, I wish I could do that if my town got corrupted but I have a digital copy. But wow, people need
to look here. It could save thousands of towns.

Woah! Good save! :O
Hopefully it won't happen again. But I'm glad your town is safe for now.

This is a true Animal Crossing miracle. You saved your town from being corrupted!!!!!!!

This is an amazing story. It seems risky, but it just might help other people from possible corruption!

I'll try to remember this if I ever receive that dreaded message. Congrats on saving your town! I bet your villagers are happy not to be sent to data corruption void.

Well done!!!!!! Congarts on saving your town!!!!
If only this came out when my cousin's and brother's game corrupted :(
Am I next? O.O

So if I'm understanding this right, if I were to get the dreaded error message on one of my cartridges, all I'd need to do is immediately pop the cartridge out of the 3ds? Or am I misunderstanding

I think so... I'm not sure it will work, but it seems to be the thing which saved me :)

Wow! That's amazing :D I'm so happy you prevented acnl data corruption! Congratulations <3

wow that's really cool! I've never heard of anyone who saved their game from being corrupted before c:

hope your town and everything will still be good and fun!

I'll be keeping this in mind, just in case my town becomes corrupted. I'm sure lots of people's towns can be saved now, thanks to you! Good job :)

I'm glad to hear your game wasn't corrupted. I'm super scared that mine will corrupt someday, but the thing is, I don't know how a game gets corrupted. I heard it's most common with digital copies. Do you or anyone else know how a game typically gets corrupted? I'd like to prevent this from ever happening. I even heard somewhere that turning off the DS power while on the title screen can corrupt a game. Not sure what to believe though. I had my game since it's release though, and nothing happened. Same with my mom, brother, and sister. We all have physical copies. I recently restarted my town, but have never had an issue.

ok, now i know what to do when my cartridge decides to corrupt itself. (i hope it wont happen)
