I used to time travel a TON in my main town, but I don't do it anymore mainly because it made me bored really quickly of the game and my town and resulted in a lot of deleted towns. It also gives me the excitement of a new day and i'm always curious to see what's in my stores or who's visiting town, instead of having that already available to me. I prefer the slow pace of the game and it makes me feel a proper sense of achievement and like i'm actually making progress in game although slow - especially when it comes to building PWPs. Ontop of that I actually feel like i'm beginning to build my town from the ground up and i'm not rushing anything. Which I feel like is the key to building a developed town as ideas can change over time so that's why I give it a fair amount of time for me to develop these ideas by taking it slow. I honestly haven't time traveled in so long and I have no idea how I used to do it - I find it so tedious now.
With the subject of TTing rather than waiting it out to get certain villagers to move i've found as i've gotten older villagers I absolutely couldn't stand don't really affect me anymore..? like I really couldn't care all that much if they move in or not since I know the option to just ignore them and go about my business is there. So it doesn't really affect my gameplay that much if they reside in my town for me personally. However, when they move on my path that's when it gets personal. I'd still probably wait it out and not time travel but i'd probably be incredibly annoyed at them. Still I think it's better when you don't time travel for a villager to move and let the game take its course - cause you never know you could end up having them grow on you. But if not the feeling you get when they do finally decide to move out, is unbelievably rewarding.
