Now that I've gotten the hang of TT on my second cartridge, I'm considering using it in my main town to move out my non-dreamies to make space for dreamies I keep seeing come up in the the villager trading plaza. I had originally thought to never use TT in my main town for fear of consequences but I'd also like to hurry up the process of getting my dreamies instead of just being patient and hoping to get them all before the end of the year! School is almost back in session so this is the most time I'd have to devote to it. Do you TT in your main town for dreamies? Anything bad happen? Should I do this?! lol ty

I do it all the time, haven't the patience to wait for a villager to move of their own accord on e I've decided on a replacement. Keeps things fresh.
I did make a mistake and lose Genji about a month ago, but I was rushing so it was my own fault. Just be sure to check every villager outside and if there's no pings when you're expecting one talk to several villagers up until they don't want to talk to you anymore. My mistake was getting a ping from somebody else, unrelated to moving out, and assuming that nobody else would ping so there couldn't be a mover. Obviously completely wrong and I learned from it. Not had an accident like that before or since. Just cycled out 3 villagers in the last few days, definitely give it a go. Just be cautious and you can't really go wrong. Have never had a villager just up and leave without telling me/hearing about it :)

I never have been a fan of TTing myself, and I never plan to in my main (and only, for now) town. I prefer the slower gameplay since I find it more rewarding. Plus, there's none of the extra risks when you take things slow. No TTing makes the game seem purer to me - the way it was meant to be played, but that's just my opinion and plenty of people would disagree with me on this.

I do it allllll the time, lol. I think ACNL is best played at your own pace, and for some, that necessitates time traveling. No shame in it. Just be careful -- you'll kick yourself if you're too impatient and wind up making a mistake.

I only TT in my main town to move out a villager I don't want anymore and get a new one. Otherwise, I never TT and don't plan to.

Thank you. Yes, I've gotten to the point I'd like my dreamies asap and I'll just be careful. I've played a while now and I have no interest in playing the way the game was designed if we can even assume that (though I totally get ya Milkypink). The way I want to play is with villagers I love not "ugh you're still here- what do you want?" but I will have a heart attack if I lose Muffy, Coco, Ankha, or Fuchsia lol T.T who knows maybe I'll come across my last Gracie check. xD

I second again the being careful comment! I really was annoyed with myself for losing Genji. I'll get him back one day no doubt but it's going to be a long time now since I'm pretty happy with all my villagers. So long, Genji :(
It's good fun getting new faces in your town and it does feel great when you succeed in getting out that really stubborn villager :)

I only TT in my main town to move in and out villagers occasionally, I think it is a great way to get the villagers you want without waiting weeks for them to move in/out. TTing to move villagers in/out isn't that big of a deal, and if you are careful when TTing (follow a guide if you need to) nothing should happen to your town. The only mistake I have ever made TTing in my main town is moving Pietro and Tia in on the same day (I honestly have no Idea how it happened, but it is a small mistake and not that big of a problem). I honestly think you should at least try TTing for your dreamies and if you feel you don't want to TT any more just stop and play the game normally.

Agreed, friend. :) Thanks again for your insight.

I do it all the time, because I wanted to get the right villagers. I'm thinking of stopping because it's not as fun when all you're doing is trying to find out who is moving out. It's taking forever, and I now I have multiple towns and it's getting out of hand so I"m on the verge of giving up and just accepting my current villagers.

Advice: take it slowly. I've accidentally lost my best villager time traveling and assuming no one is moving out. Someone will always tell you if you talk to everyone, even if the mover doesn't ping.

Good luck!!! :D

Just seen this, yes I'm exactly the same! Once I get a bit bored with a villager I would rather have them out sooner than later so I can carry on enjoying the time I spend on there :)
And I got all my Gracie checks while I was cycling, so the emporium was open very fast for me :) good luck!

That's the *only* reason I want to.

Very reassuring! Thanks. I will def follow a guide. :) I feel better that nothing will happen to the town... I have the beautiful town ordinance and I'm just trying to get Katrina and Gracie's shops...

Awesome! Another plus!

I TT constantly. I get too bored after a few minutes of playing on one day. I do the routine, then... nothing. There's nothing left to do. So I tt to the next day to do it all again.

when i started off: no. only if i had to, and then only within the same day. but then my mental health got way worse and i just couldn't play for the longest time, so now i don't put any kind of pressure on myself to not tt. i'll plsy when i feel ok doing so and when i want to i'll tt lmao. i'm still in april in my "main" town so Lmao Yeah i'll have to do a bit of tt:ing to get back to real time

In my main town I do TT to plot/villager reset and move unwanted villagers out but not for any other reason.

I don't have any dreamies myself, nor do I plot reset as I'm happy for villagers to move in wherever they like. But if I did want to move someone in or out, or make sure their house went in a particular area/away from certain areas, then I'd absolutely TT to do it.

I TT in both my towns in order to play during times that are necessary or helpful in the game, but impossible during my normal routine. Playing during workdays was not a possibility, so it was either change the time or miss out on getting to any shop for sometimes weeks on end lol. That was a no-brainer for me. The game has these experiences available, and calendar/clock changes can happen either in-game or on the DS (I always use the latter myself as I leave the screen open on the "time change" screen which also shows the day and date in the corner, so I can leave the DS for days if need be). The in-game events are so intrinsically tied to the real world calendar and clock which is awesome but also raises problems at the same time. Much as I love AC, I've never once played it on Christmas Day (or the week prior), New Year's Eve, my birthday, or practically any real life holiday celebrated in game. I'm too busy with my loved ones. So I come back to AC when I can, and play catch up to enjoy the event and get back in sync with real time (... this may or may not ever happen in my 2nd town which just clicked over to 2nd of March 2015...).

For me, games are supposed to be fun and fit in around my life and schedule. Not the other way around - that's called work, not a game! To each their own though, I have no issue with those that want to avoid TTing. I personally see no reason to try and fit other commitments around AC:NL gameplay (and I play a lot) when I can just change the clock and enjoy the best of the game AND my real life.. but it's all about what works for you.
:)

Woot! I did it!! At first Muffy tried to leave and I told her no then I went day by day but probably could have skipped ahead 4 days. Day 5 Becky says she's out so I moved her and was able to move in Naomi who I kept having to pas up every time in the villager trading plaza! Didn't see Gracie but might not have checked as well but did get to check on and fix Ankha's house. I gambled and bought her when she was in boxes and her house was messed up and I've been sending her stuff to replace ever since. I'm addicted now. Going to keep going and replace 1 or 2 more today!

I don't time travel.
First, I used to time travel on other games. It ruined the experience, completely.
Second, the results are horrible. Cockroaches appear, weeds grow, villagers move, flowers wilt, and that friend you loved more than your own life (this is just an expression)? Forget you.
It is not worth it.

I tt all the time. I'm currently in 2022 in my main cartridge and cycle town and 2023 for my third game lol. When I first started to tt I lost Lucky.:( I also lost O'Hare when I was going forward in time for the zodiac animals. In my other towns I lost Ruby and yeah... Those were some of my worst experiences. However I recently got a cycle town of my own and I tt 3-4 days at a time and talk to my villagers is like to keep each time I do that to prevent them from moving. I've gotten a few dreamies via the villager reset trick but it sure does take time! It does get frustrating when I have a full cycle town since today I saw Julian in the tent agh.D:

Imo tt at your own risk from my personal experiences. I personally like to tt to play events I never played before and it keeps me interested at going and playing at the pace I like.:)
