Maine legalizes gay marriage

Yeah, the chances are unpredictable whether legalizing it country-wide would cause more good or bad in the future. No more kids need to grow up having to hide who they really are, adults too.
The fact it's outlawed in states is still not right. People living in those states can't be bonded together where they grew up if it's illegal, and taking that happiness away from them is criminal.
Yeah that is true I agree. I'm sure over time it'll change. Who knows? Maybe if the United States does not model after each other, maybe it'll take a couple of other countries in the world for us to finally accept it, you know?

Why does any mention of the legalization of gay marriage turn into a debate on the morality of homosexuality? Morality is irrelevant. If you choose to clutch the Bible in your hand and spout phrases like "homosexuality is wrong," or "God hates homos," then I say: prove it. Frankly, the Bible has scriptures against sodomy, but nowhere is homosexuality itself, that is, the love for someone of the same gender, specifically condemned.

But, this isn't a question of moral, or even christian, righteousness. This is a simple matter of human rights. This country was founded on the principles of preserving the rights of its citizenry.

LOL thank you. I'll never forget when my brother came out of the closet. It was really shocking to me to see the opposition to it from people who I actually thought had the ability to think for themselves. It really saddened me to see some people, whom he considered friends, begin to distance themselves from him.

That's the same thing that happened to me when I came out in the 10th grade. =(

I found myself sitting alone with no friends all because I was told that the person who I am is wrong.

Remember this: most people who fervently oppose you and your lifestyle, have put absolutely no thought into it. They no more realize why they fear homosexuality, than they know what will happen when they die. They believe what they have been taught to believe, and what they have been told to believe. They are, in essence, afraid of what they don't understand. So rather than attempt to find cause or reason, they resort to blind rhetoric.

Now, you have to do the hardest thing in the world: be yourself, regardless of it all.

I wish I could have had a brother like you when I was younger.
My friends had left me, and I had to deal with everything on my own.
I even failed a grade due to how bad I felt my friends had left me.
But I made new ones, who accept it. Which made me believe no matter what, something good can always happen after everything seems lost.
 
When I came out my friends thought I was going to rape them, but my friendship with them lasted a long time afterwards, they were just more distant, and then something bad happened, and all I can say is never get a crush on your straight best friend.

actually im pretty sure i said like a few Bible verses to support that there is places in the Bible where it says it is. If you don't want to believe it FINE. And Marriage was NOT here way before Christianity!!!!! God was, is, and will be FOREVER! He's never had a beginning and he's never going to have an end.

Different people have different beleifs, so of course not everyone will agree with gay marriage. If your against it, you just chose not to be gay/lesbian. If your with it, you choose to be gay/lesbian. If you don't wanna be gay, dont be, but don't pick on those who choose to be gay. It's love, and if you have strong feelings about someone, whether they bebthe same sex or opposite, you should follow your heart. I myself don't want to be gay but I don't think being gay is wrong. If you like the same gender, good for you. If you don't, good for you.

Hopefully, all the states will allow gay marriage.
Meaning when that ever happens, Im moving to my home country! Yay!
