Mail help

Hello,
I have not been able to find a solution by searching on google, so here is my dilemma: Have been absent from my town for maybe over 1 year and just started up again. I have been sending gifts to towns people as normal while not receiving any mail from them. Not sure what is wrong...would consider restarting my town but all my work (and bells!) will be gone!

Mail only gets delivered, like, twice a day...

Hello, Thanks for the responses.

I have been playing for about a month now and have not received any letters..nothing.
I have been sending mail to all of my neighbors at least once a day.

Nothing in saved messages, no flag up on my mail box ....sort of stuck here
