What's your opinion on them? I'm tempted to save up for one but then I'm like.. If a used car is worth the same as a purse maybe I'm thinking over my head. What's your stance on it
My mom say that a purse is a woman personal trashcan so i'll just get something simple and easy because i highly doubt that people will care about ho0w expensive it is but how good looking there is (and there's some pretty nice ones at target).
I don't really think spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on purses would be a good idea. It would be more likely to get stolen. Also, I personally feel guilty if I spend more than $25 on a single article of clothing because most of the time I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth.
My opinion is that they're ridiculous. I watched an interesting documentary about luxury brands and how they market different items to different socioeconomic classes. So very poor people will save up for a D&G belt, middle class people will get a purse and rich people will get clothes. I thought it was pretty interesting how they manage to take advantage of everyone by recognizing that no matter how rich people are they always want to look richer.
I agree that they seem pretty ridiculous. While the luxury bags can be pretty to look at, I feel like it's so much better to just get something cheap and functional. I'm really frugal when it comes to buying things for myself so I would never spend money on a luxury purse when my $15 purse I got on clearance at Kohl's works just fine (and looks pretty cute as well).
For it's a one off luxury purchase. I treat it as a long term investment that I use on a daily basis. ^^" Then again I've been using the same bag for the past 3/4 years. And probably years to come xD
The most I've spent on a bag was like $80- which to me is SUPER EXPENSIVE. But they were like really good brands, and on sale so I HAD A MIGHTY NEED. But spending any more than that to me would be crazy, especially since I use the same big af tote like bag that cost me $20 most of the time because it's got my stuff for work, and then if I go out I'll use one of my other smaller cute bags, but the thing is I like never go out so my bags just kind of sit in my closet... waiting for me.
The highest I spent for a bag was about 80. It was kinda worth it though, it looked very nice. It was also a backpack so I'd wear it a lot. I'd never buy a luxury purse because it's just not worth it. Bags can look gorgeous but if they're over 1,000 I don't see the point.
But I guess it's kind of the same as other luxury items, I have friends who spend upwards of $500+ on a PAIR OF SHOES! Super uncomfortable, not even that cute, shoes! It kind of blows my mind. And we spend that amount on phones too, so I mean, luxury things... are just ridiculous all together but we keep buying them so they'll keep making them!
I'm not into purses, but I splurge in luxury backpacks as a treat yo self.
The time I get them is when I really need a long term backpack plus the style that is unique and you can't find any other knock off brand for it. For example Fendi backpacks! (made with leather from Italy)
I have a decent purse I bought at target a few years ago, but honestly I never use it. I have a yellow jansport backpack I'd rather carry around, and I can fit more stuff in there anyway. If you have the money to spend on a super expensive purse go ahead, I just can't justify spending that much money on something I'm probably going to ruin or rip either way.
As much as I love a nice purse, I do think the luxury ones are a bit overboard. I'd be devastated if anything happened to it, if it became damaged or stolen for instance, but they're also ridiculously small and not very practical in most cases. The thing about these is that people pay a lot for brand names, and that's been exploited so thoroughly now that the item you get isn't nearly as functional as something you'd get for a far cheaper price, that still looks good.
I've ordered some expensive purses before and they're always kind of small, which is okay if you're not packing much, they're more suited to "light" days out. I'd still rather have something a little bigger though, there's nothing worse than fiddling around with a tiny purse where things just barely fit.
There's no point - they all have practically the same purpose and to me I don't think it makes a difference in quality or style if you just put a designer logo onto the bag. The most I've ever spent on a bag was about ?60, which I bought with money for my 18th birthday. I admit it's probably more than I'd usually spend on something like a bag, however it was very good quality (so I know it will last) and it was for a special occasion (plus it was really pretty too lol ^^). That being said, I would never spend anything more than ?100 on a bag. Crazy to think some people could spend thousands on something like that!
Well I bought myself a Givenchy Antigona in black calfskin and it was the best choice I ever made so I say if you want it you should get it
I honestly love handbags so much but some are so expensive that I really can only justify spending money on the ones that I'm in love with... and never buy designer off eBay cause if the price seems too good to be true then it probably is
