Lucky, but also unlucky

I'm sorry if you think this thread was gonna be about Lucky the lazy dog, but it's not.

It's about how I finally had 9 villagers again, so I thought I could finally let someone new move in. I went to the campsite, excited to see who was there (I always get great villagers when my town is full, so I was excited to finally be able to let someone move in from the campsite).

I entered the tent, and there was Agent S. He's so cute and I got really excited that I could let him move in.

I wanted to get rid of all the items in my inventory before playing games with him to get him to move in. Then I found this:

I was really surprised to find Keaton's plot there. I must've gotten him from someone's void. The funny thing is that I've had him in my town before, and I didn't even know I had cycled enough to get him back again. The reason I still call myself lucky is because he moved into a great spot and because he's an okay villager, but I'm still disappointed I can't invite Agent S now...

Have you ever had anyone move in unexpectedly (from someone's void or otherwise)? What did you think of it?

I've had this happen too. I made a mistake while plot-resetting which resulted in Fauna's house being plotted in a pretty bad spot. It's okay now, since I've managed to make it work! ^_^

I gotta say, you are INCREDIBLY lucky that Keaton moved into such a good spot without plot resetting. It sucks about Agent S, but it would've sucked even more if you found out this random move-in was moving in a terrible spot that killed your paths/trees/flowers.

I've done the opposite: been a villager dropper-offer, which makes me cringe with embarrassment (particularly given that I found out about having done it through someone complaining on the boards about my old villager moving in). I'd not done a lot of trading and didn't understand the mechanics of the void. It still seems as though there are differing opinions on the effectiveness of clearing one's void, but I now clear my void before visiting others' towns.

I have, however, gotten unexpected villagers through streetpass, which makes me grind my teeth.

Haha Agent S. I had her in my town for a bit. Good company but a bit weird lol.

The good news is she's not exactly a high tiered villager so if you ever get another spot, chances are you can adopt her from someone off the boards for free.

And you got Keaton in a good spot. Pretty good luck there :3
