Luck with changing villager's shirts?

I feel like I'm only one who literally never has a problem getting my villagers to wear certain shirts?

Muffy and Pinky both changed into the ones I sent them, and when I caught Marshal wandering around in the duck shirt he immediately switched back to his default denim one when I mailed it.

I only sent one, not any duplicates.

I dunno. I have massive trouble sometimes and no trouble at all others. I've taken to just sending five at once now if I really want them to wear something because that always takes care of it (though they usually also put one in their house, but that doesn't bother me)

I was able to give Puddles her original shirt back on her birthday, which she changed into. Besides her, I'm pretty sure the only villages who still have their original clothing are Lobo, a starter, and Peanut, who I've had for less than a week. The rest are wearing things completely random. I wish Queenie would change back to her original shirt, the one she is wearing now looks hideous on her. e.e I guess I have some clothing problems. You're really lucky!

do you have high friendship with those villagers? i sent daisy a shirt when i didn't know that they would wear it. she replied saying since i have good tastes, she decided to wear it. she looked hideous in it, it was a green warm up jacket and it doesn't look nice on her. i gave del, who was the first villager to give me his picture, a shirt through the mail but he displayed it in his house. :/
this is what keeps confusing me, and i was wondering what your friendship level is with your villagers? they must really like your taste.

I get random results, sometimes they wear them, sometimes they put them in their house and sometimes it ends up on another random villager (or I end up delivering it to another villager )

I have a guide that tells me what clothing style each animal likes. So I choose one from that style that I like and send them two. They put one in their house and wear the other.
It works 90% of the time.

Would you share that guide? I'm currently trying to get everyone to wear different clothes, since they all are wearing things that makes them look hideous.. And Rosie was so cute in that beaded tank ;__;

I have a lot of trouble with that. I made a Britney Spears design that I put up at my abels sisters since I needed space and 3 villagers were wearing it! I couldn't get it off for the life of me. It took months to get two out of em and I gave away the last one while she was still wearing it. Help me out man!

Apparently if you guys send shirts 5 times to the villager they'll wear it, I read it off somewhere and it works for me all the time c: <3

Send them multiples of the same shirt and I guarantee they'll wear them.
