Lost items - creative uses?

So apparently if you 'forget' to give a lost item it turns into a regular book, mitten, etc! I had heard this somewhere but completely forgot and now I have a mitten lolz

I can't bring myself to throw it. I feel like it's a special item regardless. It's my first time getting one since I always return lost items. I've seen some cute placements of the book outside near benches or hammocks, but the mitten doesn't seem to work especially since it's summertime too. I tried decorating one of my rooms with it but didn't seem quite right.

I was wondering what you guys would do with them? And if you decorate, how so?

I actually got a lost book through a trading for decorative purposes, put it next to a lucky tree stump lol
Though, it's silly that once a day pass the mitten just becomes a random item. Poor villager getting cold!

I actually completely forgot about this until seeing this thread. I normally just toss them. They wouldn’t fit with any of my rooms, and they’re just taking up space sitting there.

For most of the items I dont have any Mayor use. but I really like the lost book. In my old town I had a Little hidden reading Corner, hidden in a far outer Corner of my map, with a Special tree stump, lots of petty flowers and trees. It wasnt the most unique area, since I know quite a few People do those type of Areas but it was super sweet and I plan to do it again!

Yeah, it seems like the book or the pouch can be decorative for outside but I don't think I've seen mittens outside unless you have a snowy town which could be really pretty... Maybe I'll just store it for now and see if I can come with something xD I still refuse to throw it out.

I always try to make sure lost items get back. But if it slips my mind then I usually will put stuff like Books on the Beach, maybe next to a stump. It's a cute way to decorate.

i put my book next to a rocking chair in my bedroom, it looks really nice there. can we actually sell the mittens etc though? ive never tried that after they turned into normal items and im kind of lazy but i recall that when theyre still "fresh" you cant sell them? theyre taking up so much space in my inventory since i always forget or give up halfway....

Sack - beach, as they remind of a swimming backpack
Paperbag - in a kitchen room as a "lunch"

I never used to pick them up.

I'd TT to get rid of them, but lately I've been picking up the pouches, waiting the two days, then putting them in my rooms.

They're kinda cool.

Hmmm I don't actually know if they're sellable. Pretty sure you can throw them away though? I haven't tried yet!

Toy Day Sack- Placed it by the washing machine.
April Fool's Towel- Place it on the beach or in a bathroom.
Forgotten Petition- I've seen it used in a clothing shop in a player house. It's a clipboard.
Book- Used them in my college campus house library.

Nothing really with the mitten,but I do what you do with the books, I think it looks so cute and so adorable. And plus the purple and white on the mitten looks kind of ugly. Like no offence to whoever modelled the mitten in Animal crossing new leaf welcome amiibo team LOL

Omg now I kinda really want a book item but I'd feel bad ignoring the lost item on purpose so I can get one >.< xD
