Lost Item only ever belongs to one villager?

I have had 4 lost items so far, and every time I bring them to someone they say "Nope, I think it's Audie's." Why is Audie the only one who ever loses stuff? Is there certain criteria for who loses things and who doesn't? It's not annoying or anything but it does seem strange that it's only ever been her.

i thought that was normal for lazy villagers but maybe there's something up with the game again •-•

Hm, mine has definitely been very random and different villagers almost every time. I think the RNG just keeps hitting the same villager for you.

Did you know that if you click on the lost item in your inventory and select "Investigate", it will give you a hint as to who it belongs to based on personality? You can do this instead of bringing it to the wrong villager, and you get a bonus in terms of friendship (and possibility at their photo if you're best friends!) if you do this and give it to correct villager on the first try (i.e. not going to the wrong villager and them telling you who it actually belongs to).

I didn't know that! Thank you, I'll definitely be using that next time. (although maybe i'll just bring it to audie first since it's always been her)

I found about 4 lost items and 3 of them belonged to my jock villager! It is absurd but kinda funny.
