So I had a villager in animal crossing for 2 months, and I really like him. last week he wanted to move and I agreed ONLY because I know my BF wants him, and he is going to have a spot available last week.
So yesterday, my BF come to my island to pick him up (he was in boxes), and then there was a connection glitch. when I re-enter the game, my villager is gone, marked as ' I moved to another island', BUT my BF did not get him! On his side, the record has not been saved, and we could not found him. The next day, a new villager moved into my BF's island and it was not him, as expected.
Is there any possibility to get him back? I know the data might already be lost during the glitch, and he is gone forever, but I still want to ask if there is a way that this data is saved and I can found him through Nintendo support.

Update: I chat with the Nintendo support online, and there is nothing that they can do. Currently trying to make a phone call with the customer service.
Update: I had a call with Nintendo support, and they said that they are aware of this bug and are working on fixing it, maybe the next update. For my villager, there is no way to get him back. His data might be lost completely, or he is stored in the database and can move to other's islands. There is a chance that I can find him somewhere on my friends' island, so I will keep looking.
