Btw, my town is kinda underdeveloped, so I'd rather visit someone else's town first.

Getting error message 018-0512. That is the usual message that I usually get when trying to connect to peoples towns. To my knowledge, I can't connect to people's 3ds' if there are in America but I can connect with people in the UK.

Oh, thanks for the tip! xD When my game crashes, it doesn't give me an error code, though, it just says to put the error code on support.nintendo.com (but it doesn't give me one!!) I'm in Canada, perhaps I can only connect to people in the same country... still sucks, though. (Sorry, guys... )

That is just me assuming what the problem is. When I research the error code, it says it might be something to do with my firewall.

You could try and connect to my town to see it that works. I've only had problems with visiting and any visitors from American countries, so there is a chance that you could be able to connect to my town. (but there is no guarantee)
