Nintendo shut down 3DS/Wii U servers last April, meaning you wouldn’t be able to play with this user through normal means. There’s unofficial servers but I’ve never looked into how to use them.

I didn't fully understand what you said, maybe because English is not my first language. So far I've been playing, the last few hours I mean. I won't be able to visit other cities?

Yes, that just means that you can play the game as usual, but you can’t play with people in other towns besides yours.
