I'm looking for new Anime to watch that is Historical, but set in the 1900s. I tried to get into Black Butler and just couldn't u_u.

Baccano has been suggested. It's a very good series.

Off the top of my head, how about Emma: A Victorian Romance or Moriarty the Patriot? Both stories take place in the late 19th century, I think. You can google for story synopses or pictures to see if they look interesting enough for you.

By historical, do you mean the main genre is historical or do you just want ones where the series takes place in the 1900s?

If you don't mind it not technically being "historical genre," Mushishi might be good. It has a good mix of Japanese folklore/ spiritlore(?) and ambience.

I mean more the historical genre. I tried to get into Mushishi, but it was too slow for me. I liked the artwork though.

There's this one really old Anime, that I can't even remember the name of, that is based off of this family from in/around Gettysburg during the 1800s. It's really old and from the 80s, but I recall hearing about it and since I do Civil War reenactments it piqued my interest enough to search it one day.

Dang it bothered me so much that I had to hunt it down. 'Kinpatsu no Jean' (Jeanie with the light brown hair) It's actually a song which is probably where the inspriation for that animation's name came from. The song is about a soldier yearning for the girl he left behind when he went to war.

From the looks of it, there's apparently two different versions? One from the 70s that only had a few episodes and one from the early 90s that had 50ish. Might not be what you're looking for, but figured I'd throw it out there. It took me forever to find this information, so chances are finding the actual episodes online will be hard, if not impossible.

I can't recall any right now from that era, but there is one from earlier (1700s) that I really liked - Rose of Versailles. It's set in France leading up to the French Revolution and is really good.

This was set in the 1950s. It’s my favorite anime.

Apparently Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is historical too!
I actually preferred the first Fullmetal Alchemist even though it wasn't my favorite type of Anime. So far, I tend to not like Anime, people love u_u. It's weird.
