Apollo has been one of my OG villagers since Wild World and I managed to get him fairly easily in NH (literally the first NMT island I went to island hunt for him) so I have to throw in a vote for him.

I have Kabuki and he's great! I also like Rolf but he's not on your list. Another two I really like are Chief and Fang.

I actually missed out on Static, Dobie, Lobo, and Spike while island hopping previously.

I checked Chief's interior and I'm loving it!!! Rolf's is cool too, plus white tiger!! I think I want a "large" animal (eagle, wolf, tiger) that I may see as leader to my village (currently full of cute ones..rabbit, doggo, duck, deer....)

It seems like there's so many amazing cranky villagers out there aside from the obvious Apollo/Kabuki/Chief, guess I'll most probably invite whoever shows up first and update this thread!

I voted for other for my buddy Murphy. I had him in new leaf and I found him on an island tonight. He is a cranky green cub. I also recommend Dobie. Apollo is ok too.

bit of an underdog: monty. i know many don't like the monkey villagers, but monty is one of my favorites & he's a really good cranky villager.

Apollo is awesome!! He's such a cool dude and he sings! Wolfgang is also really great, but since his hobby is education he does a lot more reading and investigating things like flowers.

My favorite is Grizzly. He was a random move in and he really grew on me. He is such a softie lol

I like villagers whose appearance matches their personality. This is who I suggest based on the ones I know:

Dobie: He’s an old wolf so cranky suits him perfectly.

Octavian: Nobody looks more cranky than this guy.

I vote Apollo, although I'm also a fan of Chief and Wolfgang. I'd also check out Avery. He's also an eagle, but I don't think he gets talked about as much because most people prefer taking Apollo. I had him in my NL town and I loved his design!

Gaston! Why?
1) He's awesome looking.

2) In the first game, he had mad scientist furniture. Now it's cardboard furniture in a rundown shack.. All his dastardly plans fell through and now he's broke. How many other Crankies have such a backstory??

personally i would recommend tom he is a blue cat and he is such a sweet old man. he's currently my island dad and i love him sm

I would recommend Elvis. He look scary on the outside but is a big softie in the inside. His house interior is amazing too. And his facial expression is great too! He probably has the cutest pouting face and the small wave he give you everytime you walk out from his house is very adorable!

My favorite crankies are Roscoe and Static, but since I had both of them in my New Leaf town I wanted to change it up a bit in New Horizons. Right now my resident cranky is Chief; I like him, I think he's the best-looking of all the cranky wolves. I'll keep him around for a while

I have chief wolfgang lobo Dobie I think these villagers r cool they make me laugh with some of the stuff they come out with just other day lobo said something And it made me smile
