Long waiting ACNH trade

Someone was looking for molly and I offered to get her for them so I went through all the campsite amiibo scanning, making furniture and moving them in and then on other animal to get molly to leave and I messaged them 3 times that she is ready and never got a response back.

It's been about a month now 😌

But fr depending on the trade I usually would say 24 hours

I got a trade offer three months ago for an amiibo card and I gave them a response accepting it, but haven’t heard from them about that trade since then, though they did post in my thread and said pretty much is this all you have? I told them about the trade (which I moved on from maybe after a month or two waiting and traded the card to someone else) and again, no response.

When trading with people and the trade requires me to tt, I let people know ahead of time that it might be awhile especially if I have another trade after. I’m a slow tter even when i am rushing and not doing the usual routine (talk to every villager, check for the bottle on the shore, etc). I keep them updated and apologize if it takes long (thank you @Minou and everyone else who I’ve traded with in the past for your patience). Or if I have things to do around the house first and can’t get online right away (which sometimes is more or less than or an hour), I make sure to let them know.

I think if the user isn’t communicating with you or updating you on their status, it’d be okay to pull the plug at 1 hour. It is kind of you to wait that long or beyond that time at all. Even without communication, I think a half hour wait is a little understandable though is still a little rude.

I wouldn't wait longer than half an hour tbh. It's so frustrating. Many times people have left me hanging (e.g. saying they are 'on their way' or 'be there in 5 mins' but end up not showing up for like 30 mins or more).

Imo, it’s super rude to trade with someone and not be ready or getting ready to trade with them. I’ve tried to trade with people and then after accepting they’ll ask if I can hold onto the item for 2+ hours.

Why even bother trying to set up the trade unless you’re getting ready for it? It’s rude af

I'll usually try to tell people when I'm available and what is my time zone. Cause I can be chatting on the forums or browsing through out the day but I won't have any actual time to open my switch and trade.

When I did nookazon, I always ask if they can trade now before sending a dodo and if I can't trade, I tell them how many trades until I am free.

if someone offered to help me out for free (which you have already, you're awesome<3)
i would stop everything i'm doing to do it, i'd feel bad making someone wait when they're doing it for free and out of the kindness of their heart. :/

I usually give a day of back and forth to arrange a time. If they aren't available when I am then I give an idea of when I'm able to and will wait until they message me to set up a time. Especially if I'm giving something for free. If another day passes with nothing I assume the trade is null and void and move on.

yikes. it’s crazy how many times i’ve seen people being offered free stuff only to ghost the person who’s offering. like homie it’s free, what’s the issue-

you have a lot more patience than i would lmao. i can definitely understand not being available to trade right away but saying you’re ‘almost’ ready when you actually aren’t is just,,, yikes lmao. like a lot of others have said, i assume that the trade will not be happening if something hasn’t been scheduled in 24 hours or so. but on a more immediate level, if the person goes offline/takes longer than 30-60 minutes to respond, that’s when i’ll go offline if i have other stuff that i want to do - things happen and people forget but a trade should never have to come in the way of other activities or responsibilities ;w;

If they don't get back to you right away then ask them to message you when they're available. You don't need to put your life or game on hold for them.

If I was offered a generous free trade I wouldn’t make you wait around. It takes a second to message and apologise if you are delayed. 15 mins waiting tops.

They message me it'll be a couple minutes because they're cataloging and I said okay send a dodo when ur done.

Honestly think the problem is that they said they'll come soon and actually don't. 😬 Remember kids, don't make promises you can't keep.
It Wouldn't have been so bad if they just said "Oh, oopsie daisy, haha, this is taking longer than I thought, sorry." or something like that.

...Though, I find myself to be pretty patient. I don't mind waiting long hours because I can multi-task and do things irl (Or, If their rating is high enough, go do stuff around my island while waiting.) 🤷‍♀️

It's really rude to keep someone waiting without communication. Keeping people waiting, lack of communication, and ghosting are my biggest pet peeves. It takes hardly any effort to let someone know if you can or can't make a prior commitment and or to tell them that you're going to be later than expected.

Especially now because with the lockdown going on so many are out of school, out of work, and have a lot of free time. So it's even more rude that they're anyone would make you wait without any form of communication when they most likely don't have any other commitments that day.

It was a villager giveaway. I clearly stated that the villager would only be on my island for a few more hours and they messaged me around 11pm just before I was about to sleep. I said ok and sent them a code and they told me they were at a party. I waited for about 3 hours for a reply and at this point I assumed the villager would be voided as it was 3am in game time. I tried to kinda hint with the guy they'd be gone, but he was adamant about going to my island. Lo and behold he actually turned up, the villager was awake, and the trade was completed.

Trade began at 11:00, finished 3:00. I think been late by about an hour is fine, but several hours really is a joke. I kinda feel bad because sometimes I've took a while to reply. But it's never been more than hour, usually 30 minutes at max.

I've made someone wait a really long time, but that was because I was trying to get an empty plot and I was getting the worst luck.
Different from telling someone I'm ready, and not showing up for a while since they knew I wasn't and would take a while.

bad rng too.. get villager to move is so tricky.

30-45 mins no response and I relist it. I have no problems waiting for someone if they communicate with me, but I have no patience for ghosts. Recently on nookazon had someone give me an offer, I responded asap, opened my gate, waited about 20 mins, told them I'd only wait for 25 more mins. Then after I'm done waiting for them to come with no response and about to relist it again they tell me they got the item 10 mins ago. Tf? If you're gonna make multiple offers, don't waste my time and at least let me know within a reasonable time frame so I'm not sitting there like a dingus waiting for a transaction that isn't gonna happen.

when i was selling on nookazon... other sellers will place a high bid and you accept their offer not know. The listing is remove temporarily. They will linger and reply every so often then you go check their profile and have the same item listed but for more. So some of ppl there are pretty tricky. They also do with alt account too so they dont get negative feedback. O.o
