So, with Pok?mon Sword and Shield coming out and having a (presumably) UK themed region, I thought it would be fun to make a Britain themed town here on AC, whether it be on NL or Switch, though I haven't decided if I'm getting AC Switch yet. Does anyone have PWPs, furniture, or villager suggestions? I'm aiming more towards a London themed town, too. I was considering Lionel or Leopold for a smug bc they're totally British in my headcanon.

For PWPs, you obviously need Stonehenge somewhere quite central. You should also grab a wind turbine because the UK has quite a bit of wind power (and it's just windy in general). It's a bit of a stretch, but the Zen Clock kiiinda looks like Big Ben (why we didn't get a Big Ben PWP when we have a freaking Eiffel Tower is beyond me). For even more of a stretch, you could put the Reset Center and the Bus Stop right next to each other to represent the London Underground.

Another thing to think about is town fruits. Oranges and peaches aren't native to the UK, but you should be alright with apples, cherries or pears. Also the Thames flows west to east and is largely horizontal in London so you could keep that in mind when picking your town layout.

As far as villagers go, sheep would be a good bet.

Thanks for all of the advice! I'll think over all of it but the villagers. I don't like the sheep villagers very much.

For furniture, there's the phone box, which looks just like the typical red British phone booths. It's too bad you can't build one as a PWP. There's also the plate armor, which would be perfect for a fancy British mansion or museum or something like that. The rococo set, the classic set, the gorgeous set, and the elegant bench and chair also have a very old fashioned British feel.

For villagers, Knox and Sterling make a nice pair of knights.

Ooh, I really like the idea of Knox and Sterling!

For the villagers, what about Caroline or Poppy? They look like they could be red squirrels.

Admiral would also be a really good choice. After all, the Royal Navy was undoubtedly the world's strongest navy for quite a long time, and is a big reason why Britain was so successful.

I second Admiral. I just looked him up and he seems like a perfect fit.

Also, I just thought about the lighthouse as a PWP. With all the fog and being surrounded by water, I imagine lighthouses are very common in Britain.

Oh, I just thought of Victoria as another villager. She is a racehorse, something that kind of relates to Britain. She also shares a name with a very prominent British monarch.

I like the idea of Victoria, too! I do like Admiral as a villager, so I'll definitely think about it.

(i'll only include suggestions which are different to which you've already received)

you could use a lion villager and a dragon villager (drago?) to represent england/wales' national animals? roses across the town in red, white and blue would also be a safe bet! the classic town hall and modern station would also be good as that's just what public buildings look like here. then it depends if you want a more "urban britain" or "countryside britain" vibe-

if urban, as britain's in a constant state of building, pile of pipes would be good, as well as streetlamps/round streetlights for bordering roads. other road themed objects like the traffic signal and no-entry sign would also be good! the parabolic antennae (not entirely sure of the spelling!) would additionally be a nice urban addition.

if country-side, there are a ton of pwps that can apply to this setting, as well as a lot of villager houses which look like cottages (have a look at this guide) a few examples include the windmill, the lighthouse, wisteria trellis (could make an area replicating the idea of a stately manor's garden), water pump (village-y feel), scarecrow (for farmland, use a qr code pattern of some wheat?), water well and bus stop.. the bus stops in new leaf look freakishly like the one outside my house.. :o metal benches could also be cute, as a park theme, though it's a shame there are no brown wood benches in the game.

good luck!

I love the idea of a British town <3

For furniture, aside from the more elegant furniture sets mentioned above, the patchwork set can also be customized with a British color scheme! And apparently Gulliver gives you a model of Big Ben if his destination is England.

Other pieces that make me think of Britain but aren't explicitly British are the chess pieces, the owl clock, and the large bookcase (I guess because I associate them with Harry Potter lol)
