So I've been slowly getting back into the game over the past couple of months, and I have a theme I've been half-working on / half-have in the back of my mind when I play. The theme is kind of literary / bookish? I've got a resident based on Emily Bront? and another based on Emily Dickinson, and the town itself is called 'Amherst', like the town Dickinson herself lived in.

I'm trying to come up with a list of dreamies that will suit this town well, either in terms of personality, dream job or appearance / house decor. I know Daisy the dog is a really good one, unfortunately I lost her when I didn't log in for a while and she moved out. So once she cycles through the 16 villager thing, I will try to get her back.

So far I'm thinking:

Goldie (Book-obsessed, Book theme in HHD)
Graham (He wants to be a writer)
Avery (Skill is skimming books and wants to be a professor, I'm just going to pretend he means lit professor)
Daisy (Has Library wall)

These are my dreamies and I want to justify keeping them in a book-themed town:

Maple (Skill is writing letters)
Drago (Because he's a dragon and that seems appropriate b/c fantasy literature?)

What villagers do you all think will suit a town like this? I also wouldn't mind pretty plain, realistic wildlife, type villagers.

Thanks!!

Derwin the lazy duck he it's nerdy looking he perfect

.... That the only one I know like right away

Graham is also nerd-like, with his lil' glasses.
Most of the normals fit this personality-wise too.

Graham is SO GOOD! His goal is actually to be a writer! Haha! Yay! Thank you! It's a shame I'm not keen on his look, but it's cool, I'm sure it'll grow on me. And I love his quote "Knowledge is power"! Perfect!

I've always felt like Velma the goat is a nerd, she'd fit well into that theme I think. :)

That's a great suggestion, but I'm not so keen on the "dork" look, tbh. I wanted something more subtle I guess? He looks and seems more like a science nerd than a Lit type, if you know what I mean? But thanks so much for the suggestion! It's actually helped me narrow down what I'm going for.

Oh wow, good call, yes. You're right.

Celia the normal eagle is beautiful, classy refined normal who talked to me about books all the time!

Plus she is very pretty in a simple way.
Highly recommended. Love everyone else's ideas too - esp. Graham. He's a cutie!

I would have had no idea, thanks for the suggestion, I will check her out! :)

I was looking at villagers and I stumbled upon another that may fit your theme.
Kidd, he looks quite fancy with his original shirt, but I get some sort of vibe that you may be going for.

OMG This totally reminded me there was another Eagle I was considering a while ago! Avery! He is so perfect -- His skill is skimming books and he wants to be a professor (I am going to pretend him means Literature professor! Haha!)

Kidd is definitely way more along the lines of what I'm looking for, his sophisticated reader look is on point! Thanks!

Lionel is very sophisticated, and his goal is to be a professor--definitely bookish. :)

Thank you!

Also, I wanted to say, your suggestions for my Emily Dickinson character and house way back ages ago were amazing, I just re-read it because I've finally gotten back into playing the game regularly, and I'm just so floored by everything you said. I have started to try and build a lot of the stuff you suggested :) Also, can I friend you?

I have Kidd in one of my towns. He is quite gentlemanly smug. He looks quite bookish. It would be great for him to have a lucky clover book inside his home. :) I can't wait to see who your villagers will be.

I have Lionel in my town - I just got him a few weeks ago because he seemed like a professor. Excellent choice!

Hmm.....there are a lot of villagers I've had in these suggestions. I was planning on having a town with archaeology - in this town I have Lionel and Graham with Lucky and Ankha - I guess that is a different kind of "bookish" villagers lol maybe there is a literary theme to my town and i didn't even realize it ;)

Daisy would be perfect! I also feel like Poppy could have a good place in a town like that. She seems intelligent to me like Daisy does lol and her design is pretty cute and neutral.

Haha, that's so cool! I guess I was being too broad when I said "bookish", because yeah, there are so many different types. Personally, I would LOVE to see an archeology themed town -- You'd definitely have to get Daisy for it! I have Ankha too, and she's my only remaining original, and I was thinking I'd just keeper under the like, historical/bookish/archeological umbrella, so I could justify keeping her, because I really don't want to get rid of her. Same with Drago lol! I'm like, half-aesthetic, half justifying a favourite. Lol.

I'd love to see your town too, when you finish it!

I really want a squirrel villager, so yes!

Wow, thank you! I'm so glad my suggestions were helpful. I love the idea/feel/theme of your town.

(And yes, definitely--we're friends as of...sometime yesterday, at least going by EST.) :)

Yes! Great suggestion!

Your sig says that you have Dora. I'd keep her since she has the library wall and is a normal villager, which are book worms in general.

I know goodie liked books because of her happy home designer room request and heroverall design looks kinda.. Cozy? Idk
Good luck!
