No, not at all. I am merely saying that the mainstream is mainstream for a reason... most people don't want to put any effort into listening to music (or anything, for that matter). But if they just tried to analyze a more complex piece or genre, they would find it much more rewarding than the pop stuff...

Well, that's the thing, after a certain point you don't have to put any effort into it. I know I don't... but then again I can't stand 99% of modern stuff, so c'est la vie.
