This may seem like an obvious no question, but as I am learning new game things all the time I will ask even if it seems silly. Let's say you adopt/buy/trade a villager, whichever and then you decide before they have plotted if you haven't played for a while or had an experience somewhere else with the villager that you would rather not have them. Is there anyway to stop them from plotting once they agreed to move in, or do you just need to wait it out and give them away when their time comes.

Yes, I don't see how you could, but if it has not plotted yet maybe it is possible.

You might want to confirm this with someone with more experience, but I think there is a way to do it.
I once tried to adopt Hopper and Drake on the same day.
I asked Hopper to move in first and then Drake, but only Drake moved in.
Keep in mind I'm talking about adopting from another town and at the time I had 9 villagers.

Ok so if I have nine...well if she does not move in it will be eight. But I have heard of this before..that if I go back to that day and ask a second villager the second will be the one to come. I have heard this regardless of eight or nine so I guess if I can find one of my wish listers for bird town up I will try this and see if the first one gets bumped away as it can't be done same day two unless one is a camper. You may have just helped a lot. Are you sure it was the second you adopted and not the first that showed up?

I know its possible to cancel the original move in if you ask someone to move in after.. But I'm not sure if it would have to be the same day that you asked the first villager to move in.

As adopted ins plot the next day, I think it has to be the same day or is too late. Now that I have a second that it is possible, am going to try if I do and it works it will save me having to cycle them out and taking longer to get to the drop to eight and try to cycle in by personality stage. I also was not thinking and the villager is of a personality that ruined that plan. I accepted them before I had finalized my final dream list and realized was the one I had to cut to have enough room. So worst case it doesn't work and or I lose a little money as my dreams aren't really high tier..unless the list flipped again.

If you adopted them from another town, you should be able to ask another to override. Doesn't work with campers, though. I tried to override a camper I invited, and the villager in boxes wouldn't even discuss moving.

This has really helped, my only fear is that if I was at eight they may both show up...and my camp starts in game tomorrow whenever I start that day and am counting on that to search out a difficult find, but hopefully if both asked on same day and are scheduled to show next day first will still get the bump out. I figured it was not possible, glad I asked.

if you have 9 villagers already, you may only invite ONE villager per day, so if the villager is plotting the next day, it won't work.

if you have 8 villagers, i believe you can invite another villager on the same day and it'll override the first one
