I was very fortunate to start up my first ever town with 4/5 of my villagers being Poppy, Diana, Punchy, and Rosie. I have since got Marshal in my town, as well as Cherry and Phoebe. The other three are Frita, Monty, and Quillson. Punchy, Poppy, Marshal, and Phoebe are some of my dreamies!

But... in the past 4 days, Cherry, Punchy, and Marshal asked to move out! I asked them all to stay, and they did. I at least want to get my villager's pictures before they leave, with the exceptions of Al and Moose who have already left. Punchy and Cherry may have to leave eventually if I want to configure my town's layout properly, but it's so hard to think about letting them go and knowing when I get them back they won't remember me, nor have any of the things I gave to them.

How do I let these villagers go when I'm so attached to them? Is there any super quick way to get pictures to cycle through the ones you don't care so much about to be able to meet more and more villagers? What's your experience with letting your villagers go, whether they're a dreamy or an ugly or a simple filler?

Letting villagers go is tough..that’s for sure. It’s bitter sweet. Some options would be to find someone to adopt your villagers who are moving out. That way you know they have a new home and you can visit them and they’ll remember you! If you let them go into the void you will at least run into them in shops and on main st pretty regularly. I enjoy running into some of the people I had move out though to be fair, I wasn’t overly attached to any of them but it’s still a little sad. I just bought 50 amiibo coins with all my dreamies so I’m going to be facing this reality soon myself. My goal will be to adopt them out and still have their amiibo coins if I ever want them back as a new villager..I also try to get their pictures! Hope this helps

I always feel sad anytime I let a villager go, but what makes me go through with it is the excitement of seeing someone new move in and getting to know them. I become attached to all of my villagers to varying degrees, so whenever I decide to let a villager move out, I know that they'll be replaced by a new villager that I can form new memories with.

Personally, I don't try to get all of their pictures before they leave. I've had very good luck with them sending me their pictures in their goodbye letters because I try to be good friends to all of my villagers. There have only been one or two villagers that I let go of too quickly so I didn't get their pictures that way.
