So I decided to not get Pokemon X/Y and get Legend of Zelda the wind waker??
But I'm new to both series and need to understand- what the Wind waker is about!!
I have played the Ocarina of time and the zelda game on nintendo land.

Also are you getting a game guide for the wind waker??
I'm thinking of getting one-- I'll probably get the collector one-- I love looking at game maps! (I took my brothers skyrim one)
Plus the gold pages are cool!!

So what is the wind waker about??
What is the wind waker??
Are any of you not going to get Pokemon X/Y?

I'd suggest buying a title which you're familiar with. However, Pokemon x and y will have tonnes of replay able value, where as wind waker will not. (It has replay able value, but just not a lot in comparison to a Pkmn game.) And no, I won't be buying a prima guide. The last guide I bought was for Pokemon colleseum, and it was terrible. Most guides are riddled with mistakes and misleading (much of the time incorrect) content/information.

I never really see the point in buying a guide for a game... You get a game to have fun with, but how can you have fun when you're just following somebody else's play through? Surely that'd take all of the excitement out of the game? It's kind of like a "hey I've completed this game using a guide. On to the next game!" Idk, I don't see the attraction of a guide book. When I bought my Pokemon guidebook I was left feeling disappointed because I knew everything that was about to happen...

Anyway, get Pokemon. AND, because there are Pokemon COUGH roms COUGH on the internet which you can play for free... COUGH but i do not condone this as it's a bad thing to do! COUGH HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE You should familiarise yourself with the Pokemon saga cough (I don't condone the use of game roms or hacks.)

The Story of the Wind Waker takes place 100 years after the events of OOT. In honour of the hero of time every young boy's tenth birthday involves him dressing in green and paying respect to the boy who saved the land of Hyrule so long ago. The Link in this story lives happily with his grandma and his younger sister. On his birthday Link witnesses a large bird carrying a girl across the sky. The bird discards the girl in a nearby wooded area and he goes to investigate. The girls turns out to be the leader of a band of pirates, however her presence in the town means trouble as the bird returns and mistakes Link's sister for the pirate and takes her away ! Link must chase down the bird and find his sister, however when he does he encounters the reserected Gannondorf and the adventure begins!
I won't say anymore to avoid spoilers but It really is a great game!

As he/she's new to zelda, I think it's worth a mention that the zelda timeline has different alternative timelines. For example, one timeline exists where Link in OOT did not fulfil the role of hero of time, thus later games have been spawned, like majoras mask. The games aren't just like the Pokemon games when one game would randomly exist with very little relation to other games (almost none, in fact.) but ya! Each game plays major significance to the franchise's storyline.
