I thought items could be transferred over if you trade with your friends. If that is the case I will give you advice for getting Leftovers. If you have a level 80 or higher pokemon in your party with the pickup you can up leftovers at a 2% chance. If it is level 90+ the odds become 4%. Also, the more pokemon you at level 80+ with the pickup ability the better. I use 5 level 100 pokemon with pickup and I get good items often. I hope my advice helps.
