Wisp and Saharah are currently my least favorite NPC to see, with Lief not far behind. Prefer other vendors to them honestly. Isabelle is seemingly more bland this game, but that’s okay with me I guess since I don’t need to really see her.
Isabelle by a country mile, considering her repetitive dialog is unavoidable every day you launch the darn game. Whyyyyy have her dialog start every session off if you’re not going to write 365 unique ways to say “there’s no news”? It just means every time you play you start off being annoyed and having to skip through dialog cuz you want to get to PLAYING the game you chose to play, imagine that!
Next up, Dodos easily. Useless aggravation that could be entirely replaced by a menu to pick multiplayer sessions, which would take a fraction of the time. What gets me is they even designed the UI for it and you’ll see it if 2+ people have their gated open at the same time, so really what’s the point of the Dodos? Like their namesake, they should go extinct.
In this game, I don't really like Saharah, was never a fan of her extravagant stuff. But I think that's changing because some of her rugs look really nice and cosy in a standard home–style house.
In other games I couldn't stand Gracie, especially GC. She's got a funny personality for the game, but the fact that I can attribute her to one of those typical rich, annoying, unappreciative people with a repulsive personality makes me not like her. Absolutely hated her as a kid too.
I don’t mind Label~ I appreciate that she kind of replaced Gracie because Gracie was kind of rude and condescending if I remember correctly. I only did the fashion checks so I could get the upgrade in NL but I was never really fond of her as a character. I hope there is more to Label than this though, I hope she gets to open her own shop or work with her sisters again- that would be much more interesting.
I’m not a huge fan of Sahara~ although you could get something really cool from her, most of the time all I get are weird things that I’ve spent bells on and will have to get rid of cause I won’t have a use for. However, I do like her way of speaking and she’s an interesting character.
I kind of wish some of Label’s idle dialogue had her talk about more her personal experiences. Even if it had to be over a short course of time, I would understand because Sable mentioned Label being a bit shy like Sable herself.
I hate it when C.J. starts snapping pictures of my villager. Never been a fan in real life, never will be virtually unless the situation calls for it (like a walk-way show). Not hate, but Flick’s dialogue is too wordy for me. It’s a lot to digest, so I have to hold that ‘b’ button like it’s a lifesaver to reach safe waters.
I think Wisp takes the cake. He’s a cute ghost, but a fetch quest that requires me to run all over my island just to get an item I might already or hate feels like a waste of time. At least with Gulliver’s fetch quest, it’s all in the sand and not as time consuming
I personally don't like Leif. I like his bushes and flowers, don't get me wrong. I just can't stand his design. Why is his face white? Why are his lips red? What is with those cheeks? His design just makes me uneasy
Timmy and Tommy.... would much rather have Reese and Cyrus! We already have Tom Nook as the Raccoon we don't need two more (at least I don't)
Also.. Gulliver.. but I've only had him once
Well right now it's Orville 'cuz, like... just freakin' keep trying to send me to the other island, dude, I'll tell you if I change my mind because it takes too long. Christ...
I don't really hate or strongly dislike any of the NPCs. I actually feel like having any of them around makes the island seemed more like a community.
One of the things I really miss about the early part of the game was having Timmy/Tommy walking around the island. I wish we could get more of that. Or even if NPCs from previous games could come in as tourists.
I wish that Isabelle would announce who's on the island. That would be so much more helpful than "Did anyone catch that tv show last night?" Who is she even talking to? The morning announcements are meant to be on a loudspeaker. All I can imagine is Tom Nook faceplaming as she prattles on an on. I still like her well enough. She's more like that annoying, yet well meaning coworker who doesn't know when to quit.
I think it would have to be CJ when he is just visiting your island. I like him a lot more during the fishing tourney because he is much more professional while being fun. But when he is just wandering your island he reminds me too much of the really fake YouTube people. The ones who take one part of their personality (or a popular personality) and crank it up to 10,000 so they are just screechy and become caricatures. I just don't like it.
Flick borders really close to my dislike list when he starts the insecure emo artist thing, but it is only for a second so I forgive him. His straight-up obsession with bugs reminds me of rabid fangirls and it makes me chuckle.
Lyle,the insurance selling,home judging weasel or whatever he is.I absolutely hated him in Wild World.They toned him down for the next couple of AC games and he's thankfully missing in action for New Horizons.
I love my Dodo friends, but please, poor Orville has to go through all this ''You sure? Hm, you sure?'' thing and I'm sure neither of us like it.
Isabelle, you're a cutie, but please announce something? ;u; Don't announce a lack of announcements?
I would like to speak more with Wisp, maybe have him tell me something about ghosts after I end up the request? I think he's super cool but I only see him scared and being grateful. I'm sure he has some cool stories, he's a ghost!
And poor CJ, your photos stress me out, you make me tired just by greeting you.
