does anyone else go through this? i'm in the process of landscaping my town, and i keep going through phases where i simply don't like what i'm doing with it. i also have no idea what i want to change, and it's very overwhelming. i'm trying to focus on small areas at a time, but i always kinda wander into others... does anyone have tips/experiences they can share on how they came to love their town?

I feel your pain x~x ive just started getting serious about landscaping my town, I like how its going so far, but yet it always feels not good enough, so I usually plan ahead Instead of crossing that bridge when I come to it. I try to stick to my plans but I end up straying and when im done it looks like a masterpiece. I guess my overall tip would be to not rush things and go about it at your own pace so you dont stress...

I can relate so much to this. I have two towns, and I honestly hate both of them.

I'm trying to landscape Clarity right now, and it's honestly exceptionally overwhelming. Trying to gather all the supplies, figuring out where I want things, etc etc etc. It's a pain, and I hate it.

I can't give any advice as to love your town, since I don't love mine, but I really hope it'll be worth it once the landscaping is done.

This is entirely why I have spreadsheets and lists (I am not even joking!).

Out of the 7 towns that I am currently running, they are all massively WIP's and there is so much to do it is massively overwhelming. So I actually write things down and make myself stick to one thing.

Honestly, I love nothing more than having a project, but it can be overwhelming if you are trying to envision all of the things at once. Start with one thing... paths for example. Then trees, then bushes, then flowers etc. It gives you a focus and makes the game so much more enjoyable :) I love my unfinished towns, because I can see the little bits of progress each time I load up :)

It's supposed to be fun, so if you aren't enjoying it, maybe try taking the pressure off a little and just enjoying your villagers, or spend some time on the island playing games :)

This is great and I'm glad you posted, because I was feeling like I couldn't possibly handle 3 towns, but your practical approach makes me feel like I don't have to give up any of the towns I have. :)

I have a very lazy approach so it might be literally years before one of the towns is complete, but I don't mind because I just enjoy playing them and checking on the villagers, who are all so adorable.

Because of the painstaking and slow nature of the game's progress, we have to embrace patience to enjoy the game I think.

But sometimes I forget!

So in response to the original post, I guess it's important to accept whatever state the town is in to love it.

Kind of like in any circumstance where you want to love something or someone, you just have to accept it as it is, and not love it for something it is not (yet).

thank you everyone! i think i will try to take it slower; i've been rushing everything and kinda losing sight of enjoying the game itself in a hurry to get a beautiful town. i always expect my town to be perfect in a month even though my town tree is still only at the tiny 3 bushes stage, haha.

It can be overwhelming. Going to do what was suggested and do one thing at a time. Either one part or one thing like paths.

Yes, I'm not very imaginative so my town will never be absolutely amazing like some people manage....
At the moment it's a right mess because I've been doing the 16 villager cycle, but even fixing it feels like a mammoth task because I'm not happy with how things are set out. I don't like my map anyway....
I'm sure I'll be happy with it again once I get my villager back and get more hybrids. Until the next time I lose motivation and consider resetting, that is...

Hmm, I can't really give you much advice since I haven't started to landscape yet but maybe look around of some inspiration?
