So my birthday is coming up, and my dad told me he could ONLY give me ONE nintendo game! (Sucks, I know.)
But I'm having trouble picking ONE of these games!
I would prefer if it wasnt a 'one and done' game, and will keep me entertained for hours! (Or at least for a long time.)
You can vote here, and when you do, please post here why you voted for that game and why you DIDNT vote for the other games!
Thanks!

1. Fire Emblem Awakening
This is still my favorite 3DS game period. It has a LOT of customization on how you play the game, so you'll be making multiple files for sure. My main file has over 200 hours alone, and I have 2 other files I'm working on.

2. Kid Icarus Uprising
Think Smash in terms of content (Trophies, Challenges to complete and give you rewards, local and online multiplayer come to mind.) It has the addition of a story mode that will last you a long time in itself. The multiplayer can be played locally or online with friends, or you can practice with computers. There's also a weapon crafting aspect that reminds me of Hyrule Warriors. (You can get the same weapon, but it could have more or less power than another, as well as different skills such as increased run speed.) It will also keep you busy, I just liked Awakening more.

3. Bravely Default
I beat this just a few weeks ago and it's also fantastic. The reason I put it at the bottom was because it feels like a "one and done" game. Even though the game took me 70 hours to beat, the other games will keep you busier for longer.

So yeah, I'd say Awakening, but all 3 are great games (probably in my top 5 3DS games along with Mario and Luigi: Dream Team and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call) so you should get them all eventually.

I feel like Kid Icarus Uprising is the best. I've played all three and I would have to agree that Bravely Default doesn't have a lot of post-game content. Fire Emblem Awakening was great, but eventually the battles got a little stale. With KIU there are nine different weapon types (12 in each category) you can play with, so if you get tired of one, you can try to master another. The best part is multiplayer online. You'll spent countless hours trying to gain a hoard of weapons and fusing the best one possible.

Are you a completionist? If yes, then it's even tougher to pick one of the three stellar 3DS games you had to choose from. They all take around 85 hours or so to complete.

If you're the kind of people who appreciate replay value, then Kid Icarus: Uprising is a great choice. If ever, you've completely done with a beefy single-player mode, there's also a great multiplayer mode thrown in the package. If you just beat the game, it won't take too long to reach the end of the main story. Keep in minds that the controls take a certain while to get used to, so you can hold your system in the most optimal way and achieve a greater degree of precision than you normally would with any shooter game that involves using the twin sticks.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is great for anyone who's new to the tactical strategy RPG genre. Beating the main story alone will take you 30 hours, but the paralogue chapters, SpotPass and even paid DLC chapters are definitely going to extend your playtime by over 10 hours or so. It might be not the best game for 100% completionist run, since some of the hardest difficulties felt cheaper and that getting every single support conversation is a daunting task. But hey, you do get a lot more playtime by doing so!

Bravely Default is also a solid choice if you're looking to take over 50 hours to beat the main campaign. It does feel to be a "one and done" game once you reached the credits. I should note that the much later portion of the game is recycled if you're going for an alternate ending. In this game, you can alter your difficulty setting and enemy encounter rate (even down to absolute zero!) at any point in the story, which makes it even more suited for more convenient portable gaming sessions.

At the end of the day, I'd get Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Going to have to recommend Kid Icarus: Uprising, because not only does it have a TON of main story content, but afterwards and during so you can have fun with tons of Multiplayer hours clocking in, which adds even more to the game. I haven't even finished Bravely Default yet (I'm on Chapter 5 or 6 I think), and I probably won't ever finish it cause a lot of the story later on is boring and repetitive, and the grinding on this game just requires too much to have any willpower to put into it. While Fire Emblem: Awakening is probably the best FE game to date (Besides Fates), it's also sort of a one and done game IMO, because there's no "true" multiplayer mode to have fun with. Yes, there is streetpass and spotpass, but you don't actually interact with anyone else on the game (Any other REAL people).

So if it came down to picking one out of those three, I'd definitely choose Kid Icarus: Uprising if I were you

Awakening. Ive never played the other two, but Awkening has so much customization and there are SO many options. I have spent over 1000 hours on this game, and I have like 100 hours on my main profile because I like to max out my characters.

You should try Kid Icarus: Uprising. It's fun as helk, a really long game, and easy to get the hang of. Also you get to learn more about Pit's world and how he encounters Palutena and Dark Pit among other characters. X)

I've played all 3 games, but Awakening is only a couple decimals under Kid Icarus: Uprising IMO

I've played Kid Icarus Uprising, Fire Emblem Awakening and a demo of Bravely Default and would rank them in that order.

Uprising has so much content and is so much fun to play. It's a 3D action-shooter which is pulled off really great through flying in the air and then walking around on the ground. The story is full of greatly developed characters and loads of twists. It also has a huge achievements system as well as great online multiplayer. The huge number of weapons makes it so you'll find plenty that suit your style.

Awakening is really fun to play and has a great story but most of the character development takes place through supports - text dialogues away from the main game so it feels a little disconnected. But I'd still rate the game really high and the strategy-RPG game is really awesome.

I didn't like the gameplay of Bravely Default - I like RPGs such as Pokemon and Final Fantasy but this just didn't click for me and felt a little bland. I also heard the game takes a huge downward turn around halfway through so be warned.

Well the demo of Bravely Default is terrible compared to the actual game. I never finished the demo because it was so boring, but the game itself is great.

Oh good, I've heard a lot of people say it's a great game but the demo bored me a lot haha. I'm still not sure about spending ?30 on the game though, maybe in the future if it's on clearance I might get it.

I've played Uprising, Awakening and the Demo of Default

My #1 would be Uprising. It has a ton of Challenges to complete, an addicting multiplayer, great voice acting, and a fun mix between on-rail shooter and "run-and-gun"/"platformer" (I don't know what to call the ground portions).

My #2 would be Awakening. It's a great way to get into the SRPG series, with Casual mode, It has a nice, long, story as well as the side missions and DLC which also add on.

My #3 would be Default. In the demo, every battle took so long, and the enemies were so OP that they would kill you in only a few hits (especially in the dungeons)

i feel so bad reading this while downloading the demo for bravely default xc
if theres demos for the other two, im def trying it!

Definitely try all three demos before choosing one. Having played even a demo of all the games will help you decide in picking one of them to actually buy. :)

There isn't any Kid Icarus: Uprising demo on eShop as far as I know, so that's not an option. At least, there's one for Bravely Default and Fire Emblem: Awakening, both of which aren't quite representative to how the main game will play. I suggest you read the reviews, especially the ones that came after launch for a much better overview on what to expect.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought there used to be one, but they must of taken it down. :P

But definitely read reviews on all three like JC mentioned. They'll help you decide as well.

I have a better suggestion than all these loser games in that case.

I mean it's not out yet, but still!

I've only tried FE:A and Bravely Default, and while those games would keep you entertained for 30+ hours at least, I wouldn't recommend them if you want something that lasts for a long time.

While I really enjoyed Bravely Default while playing, I barely touched the game after beating it. With FE:A, it wholly depends on how much you enjoyed the features in this game. Some people enjoyed it a lot enough to spend mutliple playthroughs beating it, but some (including me) only beat the game twice or more before losing interest after a while.

Since you seem to like RPG if you're considering BD, I would recommend Rune Factory 4 instead. There's a lot to do in the game and I've spent 300+ hours on it. Even when you think you've beaten the game, there's a big challenge waiting for you, that might take days or weeks to complete.

If you're only interested in between the three though, I would recommend FE:A :D

I have actually played all three of these games at least a little bit and this is how I would rate them...

Best: Fire emblem awakening- This was my first fire emblem game ever and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience from both the beautiful cutscenes to the characters included in the main story. I put many hours into this game and have played it a total of 3 times I think so it definitely has high replay value. If you love a good storyline this is the game for you for sure!

2nd Best: Bravely default- I greatly enjoyed this game as well as it seemed sort of like final fantasy games which I have also played and loved. This game has very good graphics as well. I did not put near as many hours into this game since I found it too be absurdly difficult in some cases such as when you get near the end of the game mostly. If you are looking for a challenge this is the game for you!

Least favorite: Kid Icarus uprising- I guess I'm kind of biased on this one but I did not really like this game too much at all. I found it interesting for he first few chapters and then it slowly just became boring and repetitive to me. I ended up giving up on playing it since there was just something about it that I did not find interesting. I would not recommend this game personally
