I cannot and I refuse to get Katarina's "fortune telling shop" even if somone gave me blue roses to cover every square of my town, rarest furniture and items, rare tools, millions of perfect fruit, 5 ✖️ The bell limit in bank, pockets, storage and draws and the limit of tbt bells in both abd and out I would still not get katarina's shop!

I have played 500 hours 500 days like said to have the biggest town tree (I have the badge for any proof) but my tree is not the biggest (I think biggest has shade that covers the whole gray part of the plaza).

I did noticed it grew after getting the third bridge in my town.

does building have anything to do with growth?
If it does is every building in Main Street need to be built for it to be biggest or can I just do a lot more pwp for biggest tree size?.

I have all buildings in Main Street except for katarina's

Why don't you want the fortune shop? Not sure if the shop has anything to do with tree growth. I do know you have to visit her tent in the plaza a certain number of times before she decides to move in.

-edit: Having a lot of pwp's would improve your town to the point of getting the perfect town status as well as a golden watering can from Isabelle. Nothing to do with the size of your tree.

The tree grows with your playtime hours, I believe. I don't think it has to do with how developed your town is. One of my closest friends has a pretty small town and their tree is the maximum size since they've been playing almost every day for five years.

Yeah tree is how long time you play etc. not town dev.

Also why wouldn't you get that shop. I mean yes it costs some but I want it because Main St. completion and it looks kinda ugly if there is one hole in the wall there not done ngl.

The wiki says you've got what you need. I don't know what to tell you. My research is showing me that some of the stages look very similar to each other. Are you able to post a picture of it? Maybe your tree is at the last stage already and it's just kind of hard to tell. I don't know, I am trying to find a solution, lol.

Tree growth has no connection to how developed a town or its Main Street is. Also, the largest tree does not cover the entire plaza.

Why the hate on Katrina thou?

Yeah that's not the biggest tree, it gets bigger. I think the play hours was 1,000 to get the largest tree? Imma check.

So my bad it is 500 hours but also 500 days. According to the wiki fandom "Appears as a very large tree with approximately seventeen clusters of leaves. Additional vines also encircle the trunk. The trunk covers the entire planting pot."

I have played 500 days and 500 hours possibly way more becouse I had this game for years and the first few years I played it almost everyday

After like 4 years of playing this game I finally got Katrina’s shop in my town. I never use it but it is nice not having an empty building on Main Street anymore!

It is a part of my religion (please don't hate me)
I don't hate you, but if your religion does not allow for you to enjoy a game, it might be worth challenging your belief system.

It's also worth noting that religions that commonly oppose divination (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) might have other problems with some of the functions of game play in Animal Crossing.
- The Stalk Market is a form of gambling.
- Zen designs prescribe to Indian Mahayanan Buddhism and Taoism.
- Several characters offer talismans, a few PWPs are shrines.
- The only tangible goal in the game is wealth accumulation, and in some ways the game is recklessly capitalistic.
- Former games featured an elephant character with a bindi.
- Several statues feature famous works that are people in various states of undress. One is Venus de Milo (a Roman goddess), Michaelangelo's David (he's nekked!), and Manekkin Pis, a Belgian statue of a peeing boy. One of the paintings is based on Manet's "A Bar at the Folies-Bergere," which features men talking to a prostitute.
- Harvey and Pascal both have mannerisms associated with heavy drug use.
- Resetti has an "adult" magazine in his Resetti Center.

...am I overthinking this?

Play the game how you want. If you don't want Katrina, don't get her! That's the beauty of Animal Crossing, you can play it however you want! :) And the good news is, not building her shop shouldn't affect your tree growth. Maybe give it a few more days and see if your town tree grows.

wow.. i didn't think of any of those things that way.. goodness gracious.

But wait, there's more!

In-Game
- One of the fortune cookies is a riff on a famous Sigmund Freud quote about cigars and their phallic shape. It replaces "cigar" with "sword." Worth noting that the Latin word for "sword" was the same as the word for "penis."
- More Roman mythology! There is the Remus and Romulus breastfeeding statue.
- Read the lyrics to Kapp'n's songs. I don't have the patience for them, but I remember one or two being sexually suggestive.
External Factors
- Most of the holidays in the North American version of the game are centered on Christian holidays. Toy Day is effectively Christmas, Bunny Day is Easter. Hallowe'en is based on Alhallowtide, a celebration of Catholic Saints. Naughty-or-Nice Day (Europe) is Saint Nicholas Day.
- If you prescribe to a religion where certain animals are deemed "unclean," you may be stuck in a town where those characters are your neighbors.
- Your Animal Crossing character has both a father and a mother. Most religions are probably going to think this preferential, but considering the seemingly high percentage of LGBTQ+ fans of the game, well, there is a little disconnect.
- Animal Crossing may be a world of a lot of animals coming together, but can we talk about the fact that the playable characters are all white? Are people of color not expected to play the game?
- Outside of the game itself, there is a lot of disturbing fan fiction/art if you are not interested in furry culture.
