i wish he'd just be like "i don't have a song called that, did you mean something else?" if you spell it wrong or something.

K.K. can play any song that's available in new leaf, some are request-only though, i think.

I think it depends on what it is. You can request whatever you want as long as it's an actual song of his, but certain ones he won't play depending. Like, he won't play K.K. Birthday unless it's actually your birthday.
