What are some of the little details of the game that you like most?

For me it's the fact that Isabelle's ponytail jingles lightly when she walks, and the somehow satisfying sound of the pitter-patter when you walk around barefoot.

So many things, really...the crunching of snow when you walk around in Wintertime, hearing the waves crash when you build your house close to the ocean, hearing water splash when you walk on the beach by the water or the soggy footsteps when you're outside in the rain...

And then of course all the character animations and stuff like that. This game is just so wonderful. <3

Soggy footsteps!! And also digging things up when it's raining. Splish splosh.

Ooooh and spinning your umbrella in the rain and seeing the raindrops swirl around; that's a cute animation too!

I love when you ask for signatures from villagers in other town and it's raining. They have to close their umbrellas and then open them up again once they're done! :D

I agree the footsteps are great too!

This is something I noticed the other day when I got a box of chocolates from the island: when you place or pick it up in your house, it appears as a heart-shaped box of chocolates with a ribbon instead of an ordinary furniture leaf for the quarter-second it takes to put it down. I noticed a flash of pink instead of the regular flash of green when I first put it down, and kept picking it up and putting it down for a few minutes...

I personally love the way that footsteps come and go when you walk across the sand on the beach. And I also agree with flutterlove about the raindrops coming off the umbrella being a very nice detail as well.

All the different little sounds everything makes, especially the sounds of your footsteps on different carpets, grass, snow, etc. (Even though personally I find the noise of running in the rain a little gross...)

I also love when you click on an instrument repeatedly in a villagers house, they'll clap for you.

The way the music changes when it's raining or snowing.

The little things, hmm be when your villagers write you letters starting with 'My dear friend__' (something along those lines) in replacement of 'To__' and ending with a 'Your pal__' (something similar), I also like when I see villagers fishing, talking to one another and watering plants the activities they doo and just seeing past villagers in the mainstreet and saying, "Hello" by Adele aha just kidding. I also really like the twinkle sound your character make when they wished upon a star during those meteor night falls.

I love ALL the ambient sounds. You walking on different terrains, even on your house (I like to make my mayor take her shoes off in the house, she walks around with socks and the sound is much softer than when she's w shoes). She sounds of waterfalls and the sea inside and outside. Snowflake sounds!

How the lighting changes outside. I just woke up, at 6, and the lighting is very different from 7am and 8am!

The sweet letters your villagers send out of nowhere. The interesting and unique dialogue you get from time to time. How they react to your emotions.

Brewster warming up to you. All the different villagers and characters that show up for some coffee, and seeing their coffee being different on the cup based on how much milk they like! I love that this detail was extended for every villagers sitting that, depending on their preferences, not only your cup! How they added the animation of Brewster adding milk when you ask for it too!

There are so many things, I'm excited to see what everyone can remember! I love small details in games, they make everything a lot more special!

The first day I played the game I think I spent three entire minutes just running in circles on the beach because weeee I leave footprints!

I love how villagers react to what you're doing. When a villager's near you and you catch a fish, they'll applaud when you hold it up, and look shocked if you fail to catch it.

They also respond if you break out expressions near them. They look worried if you're angry or worried, happy if you're happy, and sad if you're sad. It's so sweet :)

I'm always delighted to see a villager sitting on the bench or a tree stump. It never gets old.

I love it so much when they fall asleep on a log! It's the absolute cutest. And the other day, both Cube and Tammy were sitting on the tyre toy and it was the most adorable thing. I was chatting to them, and they kept saying stuff like "you should take a break - like us!".

I love love love when a villager sits on a tree stump or bench, especially if it's a tiny villager, like Flurry or Apple! I'm always like, "How did you get up there???"

I like when a villager PINGS me and runs up to me while I'm holding the watering can. Sometimes when I click to speak to them I end up pouring water on them first... it looks like they're happy that I'm pouring water on them hahaha idk it's just cute, especially when my peppy duck Freckles does it.

Oh, I just noticed something in the Able Sisters Shop. In the accessory side with Label, on the back wall there is a framed...article and attached to the frame is a bow that is the same design as Gracie's outfit.

I thought that was a cute touch, kind of like Gracie's way of wishing her well in her new endeavors.

Pff, I had that happen to me today! At first I was terrified because I've done the same thing in Harvest Moon and I thought they'd be offended, but nothing happened. It's pretty funny.

I love the stars. A villager pointed out that they look like rock candy.

Oh man, so many things.

The splooshy sound of walking or digging things up in the rain.
The crunching sound of walking in the snow.
The footprints you leave behind in snow and sand.
Watching villagers interact with each other, especially when it ends in them singing happily.
When villagers sit on benches or stumps.
Seeing who else is in Brewsters when you go for your morning coffee.
The Christmas lights on spruce trees in December.
How the light and weather changes throughout the day.
When you do one of the emotions that Shrunk teaches you and villagers react!

It's just such a cute little game where all the little things add up to make something really special.

if i talk to a villager while they're watering flowers, they finish watering before they talk to me. i don't know why, i just think it's cute. flowers cannot be neglected!!
