So my friend recently booted up his acnl.. He hasn't played for like.. A year and a half or something like that.. One of his starters - Bree - was still living in his town. After so long. Once I didn't play for a week and Simon moved out. A week. How is that even possible? Like, wow.

Just wanted to get this off.. But feel free to share your stories :)

It's possible that the last time he played the game, someone pinged to move out and he told them to stay, so no one else could've moved out in all the time he DIDN'T boot up the game.

Isn't it pretty much random on who decides to move out? I know my sister hadn't played in like a year and pretty much all the original villagers stayed.

also only one villager will move out at most while you're not playing, regardless of how long you aren't

so if someone else moved out instead, well then....

The amount of time you neglect the game really has no effect on how many villagers moves out. As mentioned above, only one villager can move out at a time, and there are ways of preventing it. Just the other day, I came back from a 2 week hiatus, no one moved, but someone wanted to move. I just spoke to everyone again, stopped the person who pinged me, and that was it.
