Earlier I adopted Lopez from another Mayor. Without thinking I then went and spoke to Kabuki at the campsite, played a few games and won. He said he wants to move to my village. I have two spaces free but can I have two villagers move in at the same time? Really don't want to lose either of them. :(

I don't have experience with this, but I've heard that you absolutely should not invite two villagers to move into your town on the same day. The second one will overwrite the first one. If you invited Kabuki, Lopez wouldn't move in, and only Kabuki would. If you have two spaces open, the next day, you can invite a new villager.

Since campers go away after one day, the only way this would have worked is if you invited Kabuki, time-traveled to the next day, then adopted Lopez. As it stands, you can only have Lopez for now (unless you talk to Kabuki and invite him, but that seems rude to the person who let you adopt Lopez).

They already talked Kabuki into moving in so sadly Lopez is lost.

I wasn't clear from what littlemissbookworm posted. Playing and winning a few games doesn't guarantee a move-in, neither does Kabuki saying that he wants to move in. You can deny that and it'll be fine. I wasn't sure if they said, "Yes, Kabuki, move in," so I just wanted to cover all bases.

Maybe I should be more clear, too. If you without a doubt confirmed Kabuki's move in, you lost Lopez. If you confirmed it and he accepted, or if you confirmed it and then won a game, you lost Lopez.

BUT if you got Kabuki and haven't saved at all yet afterwards, quitting without saving will reverse it.

Oh pants I'm really mad at myself now. That's a mistake I will NOT be making again :( Feel really bad now. I don't want people thinking I'm messing them about when I ask to adopt villagers :(

It's an honest mistake. Since you won't do it again, people won't think that you're messing with them.

So sorry to hear this happened to you! :( Try not to beat yourself up for it, it was an honest mistake and you meant no harm.

I had two villagers move in on the same day before. Oo; But i think I just got lucky

EEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!! I got both of them!!! Not something I am going to risk again but I am so happy I didn't lose Lopez. I wanted Kabuki but I really did feel bad about Lopez.

:O you did?! That's such great news! Did they both move in the same day or few days apart? Congratulations x

The exact same thing happened to me with Zell and Rosie.
I bought Zell one day and then asked Rosie to move in from campsite. I had eight villagers back then. They both moved in!

The day Kabuki moved in, Tom Nook put a plot up for Lopez. One very happy bunny. Lopez was my first adopted villager so that's why I was a little attached to him. Just started using the online features of AC :)

Ah, that's good to know! I always assumed you couldn't adopt 2 on the same day cos I tried doing so in the past and only ended up with the second villager (i adopted both from different towns). It seems that the campsite has its own rules, which is great! :)

This. I have experience with this. I asked static and blaire to move in on the same day. Lost static :(
