Yeah, I finally got my 2nd copy. :)

I am going to use this town mostly for the resources, supporting my main town.

What do you think I should do first?

ALSO! How does this animal cycling work? What I have been doing is resting over and over to get a new selection of animals, but it takes a long time. Am I doing something wrong?

I believe animal cycling works by this steps.

Animal is in boxes -> someone comes and talks to them until they move to their town -> repeat

You do have to TT quite a lot if you want cycling to go fast.

Cycling definitely. You can get your dreamies ^-^

Aw I'm jealous.
I want a second copy just so I can have a second town... I dunno why, maybe I'm addicted.

As far as I know cycling is when you have a town and keep TTing forward a couple of days, run around for anyone moving out to ping you, TT to their boxes date, let someone adopt them, TT forward until someone pings you to move out again and so on.

I see, does your town need to have the developing permit? I just rested it, can I still cycle and they will move out?

Here's a "secret" that might really help you out. You get five unique personality types to start the game. There are a total of eight personalities in the game. You will get four random move-ins for the next few days until you are up to nine villagers. Assuming you don't get a villager from another town, the first three will ALWAYS be personality types you don't have, and two of them will be a smug and an uchi. So, what you want to do is start up the game with a new character and look for a plot. It will either be smug, uchi, or the one remaining personality type you don't have. If you are looking for a specific character, this information could really help. Let's say you want Marshal. If the first two move-ins are not smugs and you accept them, the eighth will DEFINITELY be a smug. You'll have a very small pool of smug villagers to choose from at that point. But, it's enough to know right now that the sixth villager will only be drawn from the smug, uchi and "personality you don't have" pool. That can really narrow down your search for a good villager.

Sorry if you know all this or if I've made it too complicated.

I'm buying my 2nd copy soon. About 20$ off. My friend has a 2DS so I could give her my game cartridge and I could play my digital copy and I could cycle, import hybrids to my main to use.

Hey Ras,

Thanks for the info! What do you mean by plot? You get the choice to accept the villager who moves in?

If you start the game as a new character, you can walk up to the plot and see if you like the villager. If you don't, you hit the HOME button and close the game without saving. Start back up as a new character, and it'll be a different animal. You can do this as often as you like. If you find one you like, you have to go through the process of saving this new character and putting up a house for him or her (you can destroy the house and character as soon as you are done saving). Then, that is the animal who will move in.

If you start up as the mayor and see the plot, you are stuck with whomever the game chose to put a plot down that day.

I didn't even know that :O

I didn't when I got my first town, and knew little of it with my second. It's kind of cheating, but it's kind of fun when you're doing it.

This topic seems to be mostly about cycling, which I don't mess with, but for someone getting an extra game I would highly recommend you start up extra characters at same time. I waited and regret it. Mine is for storage but turned out looking nice too. Now the more storage I have the more I hoard. Sigh.

Thanks for the suggestion. Why do you recommend that?

Based on how I play it's been a real pain starting from scratch to get 3 extra characters going. All you really need is their locker space though. I just didn't like messing with Nook and all that again.

One other thing to consider: when I started my second town, I thought of it as a "villager holding tank," or a place to try to get cool villagers to eventually move to my original town. As I started to develop the town, it quickly became as important to me or moreso than the original town. It's certainly a "real" town and not a holding tank. You might want to just play it like you did originally and maybe you'll have two towns you really love. Of course, there is a lot of time you have to put into playing two games a day! :)

That is exactly what happened to me. I just wanted extra storage, but I find myself more in the second town now. I put down paths, got all the upgrades and now working on building 3 mansions to make use of all this variety of furniture and "stuff!"

Is it that people buy the hard copy of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" again? Or the purchase the Nintendo 3DS game console again? Or both?
